Quakertown Breakfast hosted by Ed & Kathy Benner. Twelve Retreads gathered on that morning with cool temperatures and showers in the forecast. I suspect several of our regulars may have been at the rally meeting. Walt Beil is going to guest host for our next two Quakertown breakfasts. Thank you Walt. Hope to see all of you somewhere down the road. Ride Safe. Ed & Kathy 2 nd Saturday. McAlisterville Breakfast hosted by Rich & Betsy Tressler. We are finally in PA after a nice winter in Florida. Unfortunately, the weather hasn't been very cooperative for riding since we have been back! Despite the cool temperatures and showers we still had 6 Retreads at our May breakfast at "Bread of Life" in McAllisterville. We even had 3 bikes. It was nice to see everyone, but I needed some female companionship as I was the only lady! We didn't do a 50/50. Hopefully the weather will be nicer in June and we will get to see more of our Retread friends. No breakfast in May due to the Mid Atlantic Rally 4 th Sunday most months Lancaster Breakfast hosted by Art Grantz I expected a small turnout because of the holiday weekend, but I was pleasantly surprised when 40 Retreads and 3 guests showed up for breakfast at Hershey Farm. There were a lot of motorcycle in the parking lot too. Robin Robinson brought her brother and sister-in-law Ray and Pat, and Barry Horner found our website and came to have breakfast with us. He joined the club before breakfast was over and he came along on our Mystery Ride too. We hope to see him often. The 50/50 was won by MaryLou Sturgis. Thank you for your generosity to the Four Diamonds Fund. 12 bikes and one car came along on the mystery ride. We stopped at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, then rode through Fishing Creek Valley and down along the Susquehanna River. Ralph and Joyce Moyer will host in June and Robin Robinson and Dorene Smith will host in July while I am away. 2 Mid Atlantic Rally The weather co-operated for most of the rally this year with 2 fantastic riding days and one day with scattered showers. We had 314 Retreads from 18 states and one Province attend the rally. We consumed 30 gallons of ice cream, 20 pounds of pretzels, and 105 dozen cookies. 92 of us rode to Shady Maple for the wonderful smorgasbord and everyone attended the Friday BBQ and Saturday banquet. There were 10 guided tours on Thursday and 10 on Friday. The Saturday tours were cancelled due to the weather. Many Retreads took home door prizes and trophies, one lucky Retread took home the $500 raffle prize and another took the 50/50 winnings of over $500. Thank you to all who attended and many thanks to all of our great rally volunteers who work so hard to make this a wonderful rally. Next year we will be hosting the Retreads International Rally in place of the Mid Atlantic Rally. Dates are Monday May 15 to Thursday May 18 with early registration on Sunday May 14, Area hotels are booking rooms now so make your reservations early. There is a list of hotels on the Mid Atlantic website From Your Rep The 2016 Mid Atlantic Rally is now over, thank you to all who helped and attended. Now it s time to make travel plans for the other great Retreads Rallies many of us will be attending. There are flyers in this newsletter for many of them, flyers can also be found on our website. Rallies are agreat way to see new parts of the country and make new friends, I hope you can all attend one or two this summer. We have a new FaceBook group that is open to anyone. I have invited all of you who are on my friends list. I cannot invite anyone not on my list but you can join by going to Facebook, go to Groups, search for Retreads, Eastern PA and request to join. Contact me if you aren t sure how to do that. We will be posting notices, events, pictures, and other items in greater detail than we have room for in the newsletter.
