Our December meeting was a delicious dinner provided by the Hog Chapter and its members. If you missed it, you missed a good time. A big Thank You goes out to those that helped make New Bern HOG Chapter a group to remember during the holiday season by delivering canned goods and checks to our four counties. In the Wrong Gear We arrived in down town Austin Texas on January 24, it was drizzling rain. I sat in a Bill Glass staff meeting most of the next morning.

2 In the Wrong Gear We arrived in down town Austin Texas on January 24, it was drizzling rain. I sat in a Bill Glass staff meeting most of the next morning. When returning to our motel room my wife asks if I could get something done about a television that would not come on. I answered sure, walked down to the desk and asked to speak with the manager. I informed him that I had been in a meeting all morning, while my wife sat in a room with no Television could he help me out? He said sure, I later received to cell calls asking was everything working ok on our TV, Linda received two calls and was offered free sodas and candy. Now she wonders if I came down too hard on someone. Sometimes you just can t win Ha! We had a great day in Travis County State Jail; the fun part began when we left for the Banquet Supper on the other side of town. Beware of those locals that know where everything is located. After making several wrong turns and a van getting between us we made it there safely. Ever tried while on motorcycles to follow the only person that knows the way and a van gets between you and the leader? Night driving really makes that interesting doesn t it? We left for the motel same story only one person knew the way. Near our exit a SUV tried to cut in on us I blocked it and flagged Linda to get past before it blocked her view. They hit their brakes, whipped in front of Linda. Suddenly I could not see her head light and my heart jumped into my throat. Then I saw her head light again, her nerves were a wreck, she skidded, but managed to keep the bike from going down. When I ask what happened she replied I was in the wrong gear and did not have enough power to get up speed that fast. If she had got where I flagged her on time, she would have be ran over her no doubt. Was she in the wrong gear, or the one God wanted her in? What about it friend are you in the wrong gear for life s path, or does God have you moving slow to avoid a bad mishap around the next curve? I m so glad I ask Jesus in to my heart and to take control of my life aren t you. If He is in control, and knows all things let s relax and smell the roses. Bring your bike to our service department to sign-up and validate your beginning mileage, get out on your bike and ride! Challenge Rules 1. Must ride a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle 2. Sign-up begins January 3 rd or any time after that 3. Mileage can be calculated only on one motorcycle 4. Beginning and ending mileage must be validated by service Harley-Davidson of New Bern. 5. Contest will end on March 22 nd at 1:00PM. 6. NO ENTRY FEE!!
