Have you started your racer yet? Tit Bits - Barb will mention this at the meeting.- The advertising on the back of the bus received rave comments from the NHMA newsletter editors. Best wishes to anyone feeling their age and/or not so good. Slowing down is one of the hazards of getting older but it is certainly better than the alternative. Every new day is a good day. (but it might be a challenge for some) Take care. The new printer is slow but going well and is much cheaper to run. The ink being cheaper is not as good for photo s and they are of a fairly poor quality when you get a hard copy of the Newsletter. Send me your address and you will get a good, coloured, Newsletter. A funny from Dis-order in the Court (Real record!) ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body? WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 PM. ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time? WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.

4 COUNT DOWN TO THE RALLY We are on the countdown to the Rally - it is nearly here For the meeting on Wednesday 2nd May. Don t forget your raffle books and dollars for tickets sold. Did you get any sponsorship dollars and/or gifts to bring to the meeting. Do you intend to attend the meal on Saturday night -don t forget to register and bring your dollars $20 per head Working Bees Schedule 17th May to 21st May Thursday 17th 9am Friday 18th 9am Saturday and Sunday set up tents, and catering equipment Car parking area other jobs as required such as mowing the walkways/signage last minute jobs such as mowing any unfinished areas signage - you know the stuff - check with Barb/Neil BBQ 6pm BYO refreshments Safety -All members are safety officers to make sure everyone complies with the NHMA rules/guidelines. These are for the benefit of everyone - public/members etc. If you are not com fortable mentioning the issue to have it corrected, grab another member to take with you to raise the issue with the particular person. Be calm, tactful and assertive rather than confrontative. People react to aggression by becoming agressive! Avoid this. Remember you are in the right and NHMA members should know the rules Other jobs Clean toilets Keep the rubbish bins cleared Saturday night set up Saturday night meal-book in with Barb & pay $20 pp BYO refreshments Monday 21st 9am Pack up tents, catering equipment etc. Put away signage etc. in reverse of a few days ago except that there is no need to un mow the grass. You maybe tapped on the shoulder over the weekend, if you are then it is because you are needed to help out somewhere for some time. Remember as a member the success of this rally is up to each and every member. So if you are called upon to support the committee your cooperation will be appreciated. Many hands make light work for everyone. Barb and Neil The Heyfield Club has a reputation for putting on one of the best rallies around - we have the experience and want to continue to maintain our reputation and in the long term the success allows the Club to maintain a healthy bank balance for improving our facilities. (Liz)

(thanks John) Melbourne Steam Rally 10-11th March John says he went down for the Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was particularly hot but did not stop the good crowd in attendance. My display was a SE Model Imperial Super Diesel driving a 2 water pump. Sunday was a bit more pleasant, still a good crowd inspecting a very varied display. It was a good weekend. The next weekend was the Korrumburra Working Horse Rally (17-18th March). The weather was not kind, another hot Saturday and wind and rain on Sunday. This resulted in the number of people being down as well as the exhibits. I displayed my trusty SE Model Imperial Super Diesel driving a 2 water pump again, the TEA Ferguson Tractor and International 2 furrow mouldboard plough. FOR SALE Howard Tractor Rotary Hoe Model DH22 plus Broomwade Compresser plus Bedford Truck 6 Ton plus TD 35 International Bulldozer Photo s available If interested please contact Graham Watts at Lower Dargo Jim Symonds has for Sale at Woodside 1 x WG International - going suit restoration 1 x 12 run Mitchell Seed drill with grass seed box - restored and in good order 1 x 4 cylinder Doge motor no Carby or starter. I think Rob and Jannine sent me or were going to photo s of the Bullumwaal weekend - I can t find them so apologies Rob if I have lost them.

7 This is the Ruston up at the Glenn Willis that has been restored by a group of enthusiastic volunteers over the period 2012 to 2016 when an invitation was issued by DPI to interested parties to see the start up in October I believe a few members actually were present. Great job completed.

8 Barb sent in this photo from the open day so I reckon it is Mosie s engine in the shed.
