2 Off We Go... Ready to Lead the Way Hello to District 5730 Rotarians, The last eight months have been very busy.going to Governor Elect Training Seminar in Corpus Christi and International Assembly in San Diego, assembling the district leadership team (chairs and committees), conducting district team training in Lubbock, attending PETS at DFW Hyatt Regency to train club presidents, traveling to Ruidoso for District Conference and Assembly. I have submitted tons of required information to Rotary International for our district. Our district is trained and ready! Fortunately, I have very capable people helping me prepare for , DG Ted Holder, the Assistant Governors, District Trainer, Foundation Chair, hip Chair, the District Webmaster, Jeanette (my wife) and many others. DG Ted and his team will be a hard act to follow, but I am confident the district leadership team is up for the challenge. I also want to extend an invitation to everyone to come to my installation banquet which will be held on July 1 st at Dake s Restaurant in Borger, Texas. Details can be found on the district website. Jeanette and I are looking forward to the Rotary Year. District 5730 is looking good at this point in time and I can proudly say, we are definitely ready to LEAD THE WAY. 3 $180, and Climbing As of June 10, 2006, Rotarians in District 5730 have given $180, to THE ROTARY FOUNDATION Annual Program Fund. In addition $44, in Restricted Giving has been made our Rotarians. This represents an increase in giving of 80.5% to the Annual Program Funds and 33.6% in Restricted Giving. Foundation Chairman Jim Cole, knows of over $10,000 in Annual and $16,000 in Restricted giving that has not been booked by The Rotary Foundation. Thanks to District 5730 Rotarians, we will have an exceptional year for our Foundation. Every Rotarian - Every Year program has a goal of $ per Rotarian. Commencing July 1, 2006 each donor who annually contributes $1000 to the Rotary Foundation will be awarded membership in the Paul Harris Society of District This is less than $20.00 per week and will allow the work of the crown jewel of Rotary to continue its excellent programs. The first 100 members who join in District 5730 will be charter members. Please contact Dr. Michael Graves or Jim Cole if you have questions pertaining to the Paul Harris Society. 3
