He also introduced Travis daughter Kaylen who wrote, illustrated and published her own book. Assembly-AGM Club Administration: Chair John Hayes John, Jim V. and Tom have developed a new means of payment for members. Money will no longer be accepted at the desk (with the exception of make-ups). Instead, each member will receive an invoice at the end of the month that will include attendance and other items signed up for such as a social event. Those who have purchased breakfast tickets may return those not used and reduce payment by that amount. 3 Community Service/ Service Projects: Chairs Don Huestis, Mike Rushton Cedar Elementary School Judo Program: This is a donation to purchased 10 size 1 judokas and 10 size 2 judokas for a new judo program at Cedar Elementary organized by Jason Wellard. Most of these children do not participate in organized sports outside of their school. This program is designed to start children on their way to become confident disciplined members of the community. Knights of Columbus Community Hamper Fund: This is $500 donation to Quality Foods to supply $500 worth of groceries for Christmas Hampers to be distributed by the Knights of Columbus to families in the community. All of the unwrapped Christmas presents that club members bring to our Christmas party on Dec.13 will be delivered to the Knights to be included in hampers as well. North Island Survivors Healing Society: This small non-profit society provides professional counselling with registered clinical counsellors. They are located on11th avenue above the Sure Copy Store. This is a $600 donation to purchase an EMDR light board. EMDR is a device that helps client s process traumatic memories. For example, a soldier who is on heightened alert to loud noises could find the noise level of his or her children to be intolerable in their civilian life. This machine can help with treatments. Everybody Deserves a Smile: This organization s10th season goal is to prepare and hand out painted Care packages to homeless people on Vancouver Island and on the streets of East Hastings in Vancouver. We are donating $1000 to help Southgate School Grade 6 s and 7 s make up 150 care packages as a contribution to the above mentioned overall effort. 5) Campbell River Judo Club: This is a donation of $ to purchase 20 Athletic Bags with the CR Judo Club Logo as well as the logo of Campbell River Daybreak Rotary. This is a club that is 100% non-profit and is run by volunteer coaches. Bruce Henry is one of those coaches and will accept this donation on his club s behalf. 6) Campbell River Beacon Club: This is a donation of $600 to purchase sixty (60) $10 Tim Horton s Gift Cards for the Campbell River Beacon Club Christmas party that is being held on Dec. 4th at the Eagles Lodge. The holidays are a more difficult time for people with mental illnesses so they try to make it as possible and festive as possible. The party will feature a dinner catered by the Riptide, dancing, karaoke, and a visit from Santa. Treasurer: Ted Martin: The Club funds are as follows: Club Funds: $ Service Funds: $34,598 P3
