1 Freedom of Information Customer Service Centre Witham Park House Waterside South Lincoln LN5 7JN Tel: Dear Peter Barton Freedom of Information Reference: Original FOI (Clarification ref FOI) Subject: Request for information regarding to a response to a previous FOI request Please find our response below: Request Thank you for your reply. You say: 08624FOI Information request regarding overseas visits made by Councillors Jan 09 present day We have not been able to locate the response sent to this request. We do hold the information prepared to respond, the draft response for approval and a note from the approver to the person managing FOI on a daily basis authorising the response. There is no record of the requestor following up for a response. Since that time the Council has received and replied to a similar request relating to air travel from the Taxpayers Alliance. Please indicate if you wish to receive information sent for that request or the information held in respect of 08624FOI. This is a request for clarification in respect of this part of your request and has stopped the 20 working days 'clock' until we receive a response. If we do not receive a response the request will be closed after 90 days.
2 I wish to receive the information you have sent relating to air travel - relevant to the tax payers alliance request and also the information you hold in respect of 08624FOI you are offering to provide. Response In our letter re FOI we responded to your requests for copies of three other FOI responses in full and said in response to a fourth FOI response: 08624FOI Information request regarding overseas visits made by Councillors Jan 09 present day We have not been able to locate the response sent to this request. Following your clarification, please now find attached copies of the information referred to above (four PDFs). Please note that 08624FOI requested information about foreign travel for Councillors and Officers whereas 09783FOI requested information on air travel. By way of context the response to 09783FOI from the Taxpayers Alliance formed part of a report by them that should be available from their website. In addition there was local media coverage which should also be available on the web. The information from each does not necessarily correlate for a range of reasons: does not include Members, does not appear to contain flights where costs were reimbursed to the Council by others, date ranges differ, in one spreadsheet a journey has been recorded but in another the main and inter-connecting flights. In two cases from Fire & Rescue it appears that journeys have been omitted from one response when one officer joined another. Please note that information about 08624FOI refers to two spread sheets and a Word document. You have been sent 08624FOI Officers which is the two spreadsheets in a single PDF, and you have also been sent Members which is a PDF of the Word document. We believe this answers your request in full. You are entitled to an internal review of the administration of your request. You can request an internal review by contacting xxx@xxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xx. Should you remain dissatisfied following the outcome of the review you can submit a
3 formal complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office. Further information can be obtained from their website Once again, thank you for your enquiry. 6 From: David O'Connor Sent: 20 August :27 To: Christopher Johnson Cc: Subject: 08624FOI Chris - this appears to have dropped down some cracks. I have seen the draft response provided to Debbie Cook on 16 July copied below and am happy for it to go with the following changes: Bigger apology for undue delay to the requestor. Rename the word document as relating to 08624FOI as it seems the template usedfor the previous request was used here and updated but filename not changed. The two XL files can go as they are. There seems to have been confusion about this whole FOI because the CX did not clear an earlier version because he believed it was incomplete. Instead of the matter being escalated and dealt with there just seem to have been lots of s flying around so please make sure that I am alerted. Thanks David O'Connor Assistant Chief Executive Temp PA is Rachel E Cooper From: Infomgt Sent: 16 July :40 To: debbie cook Subject: 08624FOI Hello Debbie Please see below and attached response to be sent to the requestor. Can you please authorise that you are happy for this response to be sent? Many thanks Diane Thomas Dear Mr Hastings Freedom of Information Reference: 08624FOI
