Winter: 3( 12 Sat)-11( 1.30am Fri & Sat) The Albert is a single-roomed local located some 5 minutes walk from the town centre and close to the Scarborough Cricket Club. One house beer and a seasonal guest are offered together with a real cider. Bar meals are served 12am-7pm every day. A games area is situated at the rear of the main room. Live entertainment is a regular feature weekend evenings with quiz nights every Wednesday. Multi-screened TVs show major sporting events. AMBASSADOR HOTEL, THE ESPLANADE, YO11 2AY, (01723) Opening hours: 10-1am This hotel is located at the end of an impressive Victorian Terrace overlooking the South Bay and above The Spa. A comfortable lounge bar is open to non-residents and offers a regularly rotating guest ale with bar meals available throughout the day. All accommodation is en-suite and there is a "Spa and Beauty" facility. The Ambassador can cater for business conferences for up to 120 delegates. Quiz nights and live entertainment take place when coach parties are booked in. ANGEL, 46 NORTH STREET, YO11 1DF, (01723) Opening hours: 11-midnight; 12-midnight Sun Friendly town-centre local close to the main shopping area, with a single-room horseshoe bar displaying an excellent collection of saucy seaside postcards. An interest in sport and games is reflected in the impressive array of trophies won by various pub teams and the large-screen TVs for viewing sporting events. Occasional guest beers are added in summer. It has a surprisingly spacious and well-appointed patio garden at the rear with two of its boundary walls displaying a superb example of "graffiti wall art" depicting Angels in a misty woodland setting. Summer: 12-11( midnight Fri & Sat,10 Sun) This traditional two-roomed town centre local is situated close to the main shopping precinct. Two guest beers are offered with an additional one in summer ( from Marston portfolio ). Freshly cooked meals are served lunchtimes ( except on Monday ). Accommodation is available. BLACK SWAN HOTEL, 26 QUEEN STREET, YO11 1HA, (01723) Opening hours: 11-11; Sun Traditional single roomed street corner local with an "Olde world" feel. A rotating guest ale is offered with an additional ale during holidays and the summer season. Pub teams participate in local pool and domino leagues. To the rear is located an award winning beer garden/smoking area. Bar snacks are planned for summer. BOATMAN'S TAVERN, NORTHSTEAD MANOR GARDENS, YO12 6PF, (01723) Opening hours: Summer: 11-5; weekends only, Easter to May & Sept; closed Winter Probably the smallest Pub in Yorkshire located adjacent to the Open Air Theatre. Essentially a converted hut with a padded bench which seats 3 adults and tiny bar. A serving hatch is busy during warm weather and there are several tables fronting the water park where parents can keep an eye on their offspring. Opening hours can become flexible at the start and end of the season so it's best to check by phone. CAROUSEL, FALCONERS ROAD, YO11 2EN, (01723) Opening hours: 11-11; 11-midnight Fri & Sat; Sun The Carousel Pub Restuarant is one of the "Brewers Fayre" chain and situated in a recently constructed building close to the shopping precinct. Two house cask ales are offered. Early breakfasts and all-day meals are served daily. There are also the popular "Theme nights" with "all you can eat" buffets which can be enjoyed in place of the regular dishes. CASK INN, CAMBRIDGE TERRACE, YO11 2LQ, (01723) Opening hours: 12-midnight The Cask Inn is a traditional pub located on the outskirts of the town centre and has several rooms on the ground floor serving home-cooked food throughout the day. Rotating guest ales are available in addition to the two regulars. There are two games areas. The "Cask Club" function room is situated below the main bar and is home to the Scarborough Blues Club every Thursday night. Jazz nights are held on Wednesdays. The Cask is popular with locals and students. CELLARS, VALLEY ROAD, YO11 2LY, (01723) Opening hours: 4-11 winter; 12-midnight Sat; Sun Scarborough's longest consecutive GBG entry (15 years), a family-run pub converted from the cellars of a Victorian house. Six handpumps dispense guest beers from micros around the country. Excellent locally sourced, home-cooked food is available lunchtimes and evenings, with Sunday lunches particularly popular. Quiz night is Tuesday, open mic night is Wednesday, local acoustic acts appear on Thursday, and Saturday is live music night. The patio fronting the pub is popular in summer.

2 COMMERCIAL HOTEL, 83 FALSGRAVE ROAD, YO12 5EG, (01723) Opening hours: ; 12-midnight Fri-Sun Recently refurbished, this busy traditional local is located in Falsgrave with an open-plan room divided into a lounge and function area plus a separate games room (pool and darts). Two regular beers are offered together with one guest. Saturday is "band night", also live music on Sunday afternoons with "open-mic" nights every Monday. There are also weekly quiz nights. CROWN TAVERN, 8 SCALBY ROAD, YO12 5QB, (01723) Opening hours: 12-11; Fri & Sat This Grade II listed pub is one of the Marston plc chain and is a busy local situated 10 minutes walking time from the town centre. Real ales are available from the Marston portfolio with two regulars and two changing guests. There is an extensive all day food menu on offer together with various food theme nights. Sunday quiz nights are popular and the pub has a pool and darts team which compete in local leagues. ESPLANADE HOTEL, BELMONT ROAD, YO11 2AA, (01723) Opening Hours: Daily from 11am until midnight. Bar Menu Served Daily am 5.00 pm. Clifftop location in South Bay. Great view of the South Bay from the hotel bar makes it worth the effort of a visit. GOLDEN BALL, 31 SANDSIDE, YO11 1PG, (01723) Opening hours: 11-11; Sun Pub with striking mock Tudor appearance situated on the seafront, with fabulous views across the harbour to the lighthouse and South Bay. The only Sam Smith's pub in Scarborough, it is multi-roomed and features a sea-view bar, downstairs bar (doubling as a function room),family room and a popular beer garden at the rear. It becomes a cosy gem in winter, warmed by a real fire. This pub upholds the Sam Smith's policy of "Music Free" and is ideal for those who prefer a quiet drink. Enjoy superb views of the South Bay from the patio. An excellent lunch menu and Sunday carvery draw a large local trade. There are also food theme nights - Quiz nights on Thursday. No loud music or machines spoil the atmosphere. HOLE IN THE WALL, VERNON ROAD, YO11 2PS, (01723) Opening hours: 4-11; 12-midnight Sat; Sun Built in the 1840's, the pub has a split-level interior with three seating areas. This friendly, conversational pub is handy for the town centre and spa complex. Rotating guest beers are offered from the Marston's portfolio. There is a an outside covered and heated smoking area to the side of the pub. Live music can be enjoyed every weekend evening. The pub holds a "bar boot" event on Sunday afternoons. INDIGO ALLEY, 4 NORTH MARINE ROAD, YO12 7PD, (01723) Opening hours: 4-11; Fri-Sun Recently upgraded into a welcomimg open-plan pub retaining a rustic feel and sporting a logburner, this venue has come back on the real ale and traditional cider trail after a few years in the wilderness and has been voted as CAMRA runner up town pub of the year It is a true free house, with bare floorboards and the advantage of pool, darts, dominoes and chess. Locally brewed Indigo Ale (from Wold Top) and draught Thatchers cider complement specialist lagers. It is dog- and child friendly, with live entertainment every Friday and Saturday. IVANHOE HOTEL, BURNISTON ROAD, YO12 6QX, (01723) Opening hours: ; Fri & Sat; Sun A large community pub on the outskirts of town adjacent to the North Cliff Golf Course. The large single room is divided into a spacious drinking/dining area with horseshoe shaped bar, conservatory and games area. Freshly cooked meals are served throughout the day. En-siute accommodation is available. Outdoors is a small pets compound for the children, a covered smoking area and spacious beer garden. LEEDS ARMS, 26 ST MARY'S STREET, YO11 1QW, (01723) Opening hours: (midnight Mon); 11-midnight Fri & Sat; Sun Small, thriving one-roomed, Grade II listed pub situated in the Old Town area of Scarborough behind the harbour. Fishing and yachting pictures and memorabilia adorn the walls. An eclectic mix of locals gives rise to lively conversation. There is always a magnificent display of hanging baskets outside. The pub is dog but not children friendly. There is a covered smoking area at the rear of the pub. Quiz nights are on Monday.

This is a single roomed pub with horseshoe bar and adorned with numerous photographs relating to the local fishing industry. Four cask ales are offered ( 2 regulars & 2 guests ), usually sourced from Wold Top. En-suite accommodation is available in 5 letting rooms, presently on a room only basis. LORD ROSEBERY, WESTBOROUGH, YO11 1JW, (01723) Opening hours: 9am-midnight The Lord Rosebery was originally built in 1895 as the Scarborough Liberal Headquarters and then acquired by the CO-OP after World War 2 who opened a walk-round store in the building. This busy pub is on two levels with a bar located on both. Frequently changing guest beers are available and food is served all day every day. MERCHANTS, EASTBOROUGH, YO11 1NG, (01723) Opening hours: 2-midnight; 12-midnight Sat; Sun The Merchant is a multi-levelled single-roomed pub with an upstairs function room and bar, located close to the South beach. Of note is the main bar which is constructed with sawn-off pieces of railway sleepers. Meals are served from the next door cafe on request. En-suite accommodation is available. This is a live-music orientated establishment with events occuring most nights of the week and is home to the Scarborough Folk Club who meet on Mondays MIST BAR, 66 ST THOMAS STREET, YO11 1DU, (01723) Opening hours: 12-midnight; 12-3am Fri & Sat Mist is a busy and lively town-centre,single-roomed, lounge bar with comfortable modern furnishings. NAGS HEAD, 35 HIGH STREET,SCALBY, YO13 0PT, (01723) Opening hours: , 5-midnight; 12-midnight Fri-Sun This Grade II listed "ale house", the Nags Head is a traditional two-roomed local, situated at the heart of picturesque Scalby village - visitors and locals are welcome alike throughout the year. There is a sociable bar, comfortable lounge and cosy snug. Home-cooked food is available at lunchtimes. The Nags Head plays an integral part of village life with the organising of money raising events for local charities. NORTH RIDING BREW PUB, NORTH MARINE ROAD, YO12 7HU, (01723) Opening hours: 12-midnight; 12-1am Fri & Sat Scarborough's only brewpub and current Local CAMRA Town Pub of the Year, it is on the North Bay, just down from the cricket ground. It has now served nearly 2000 guest beers in addition to its own North Riding beers. Two or more guests come from microbreweries from far and wide and it is a regular outlet for Elland, Thornbridge and Yorkshire Dales. The pub has a public bar, a quiet lounge and an upstairs dining room serving home-cooked food, all with real fires. Quiz night is Thursday. OLD SCALBY MILLS, SCALBY MILLS ROAD, YO12 6RW, (01723) Opening hours: 11( 12 Winter)-11 This popular seafront local was originally a watermill but has seen many uses over the years - old photographs and prints chart its history. Admire the superb views of the North Bay from the sheltered patio, conservatory or lounge. The Cleveland Way reaches the seafront here and there is a Sealife Centre nearby. Children are welcome in the lounge. North Bay ale from the local Wold Top Brewery is only available here; guest beers invariably include a stout, porter or mild. POACHERS BARN, OSGODBY LANE, OSGODBY, YO11 3QH, (01723) Opening hours: 12-midnight Food: ; 12-8 Sun The Poachers Barn is a friendly community pub situated some 3 miles from the Scarborough town centre in Osgodby village. Two regular cask beers and a rotating guest, all from the Marston portfolio, are available. An all-day food menu is offered and there are food theme nights (meals may be eaten in the main bar or restaurant ). Accommodation is available. A seasonal guest ale is offered together with a wide range of bottled craft ale, both British and International. Old Rosie draught cider is also available. An extensive food menu is available with the Sunday roast a favourite. This bar is family friendly during the day and dogs are also welcome. A smoking facility is provided in the terraced garden. RIVELYN HOTEL, 1-4 CROWN CRESCENT, YO11 2BJ, (01723) Opening hours: 5-11 The Rivelyn Hotel, located on the South Cliff, a few minutes walk from the town centre, has recently been acquired by the owners of the Scarborough Brewery and award winning Valley Bar. The bar area is comfortably furnished and offers two cask ales from the Scarborough Brewery together with a selection of Belgian and German bottled beers. Seven handpumps serve a rotating range of beers from Ossett, Fernandes, Rat and other breweries throughout the Yorkshire region. Numerous screens show major sporting events. Twenty-eight pints are the prize at the Thursday quiz, and more free beer can be won rolling dice on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday nights.
