1 Carp-R-Us match venues in the Alicante Province A Valencian licence is required to fish these waters. EMBALSE DE PEDRERA. Take the San Miguel road CV940 passed the site of the Zoco Sunday Market and follow that road to the roundabout. Take the first exit signed CV945, cross the motorway and take the second exit which has a sign post for Embalse de La Pedrera. In about 4km. turn right at the T junction onto the CV95, San Miguel/Bigastro road. In 1km. immediately past a large furniture store on your left, turn left onto the CV950, also at this turning there is another sign for the lake. For locations on the far side of the lake, continue along the CV950 for 8-9 km to the junction with the CV925. Turn left at this junction and in 100 meters there are two entrances to the lake on your left. Take the first entrance for bank side locations back towards the large water inlet and the second entrance for all other locations on this side of the lake. The tracks down to the water are rough but passable with care. A word of WARNING, if there has been rain in the previous few days don t even think of fishing this Embalse as the tracks turn to a slurry and traction rendered impossible. Equally if it starts to rain whilst fishing, pack up and leave immediately. For locations on this near side of the lake turn left off the CV950 approximately 0.8km. from the main road into gravel track, which bears round to the left before passing a very large house on the right. Turn right at this house onto a disused tarmac road, being careful to stay in the middle of the road as the sides are crumbling. In about 0.5km turn right off the road onto a gravel track through a shrubbery. When water levels are low, as in summer, a considerable length of bank is easily accessible.

3 MERCADONA/NANCYS These stretches are accessed from the N332. Proceed along the N332 until you come to an island with a sign to Marjal Camping. Turn down the road that goes to the camp site and at the end is the Rio Segura. The Nancys stretch is actually this part of the main river and the map coordinates are for the meeting point for matches. To get to the Mercadona stretches turn left along the river then left again at the small sign that says Playas then right past the yard usually full of fishing nets. At the end of this road either turn left before the bridge to get to the upstream pegs or cross the bridge and turn left or right for the downstream pegs. MAP CO-ORDINATES N W

4 EDEN From N332 From Alicante direction go along the N332 until you see a sign for the AP7 Cartagena, leave the N332 at this exit following the signs for the CV91 Rojales, AP7 Crevillent, A7- Cartagena. You come to an island, do not go up the CV91 but go around the island to the next exit which is a small access road. At the T-junction at the bottom turn right and follow this road until you reach the STOP sign. Go across the road and up a short slope then turn left along the side of the river. From Torrevieja direction go along the N332 until you see a sign for the AP7 Crevillent Cartagena, CV91 Orihuela. Leave the N332 at this exit and at the island go all the way round to the exit signed CV91 Rojales Orihuela, A& Crevillent. You come to another island, do not go up the CV91 but go around the island to the next exit which is a small access road. At the T-junction at the bottom turn right and follow this road until you reach the STOP sign. Go across the road and up a short slope then turn left along the side of the river. From AP7 Leave the AP7 at junction 740 Almoradí, Rojales, Guardamar the follow the CV91 towards Guardamar. Keep going along the CV91 until you reach an island with signs to Alicante, Guardamar; Torrevieja, Cartagena. At this island take the first exit, a small slip road. follow this Road until you reach the STOP sign. Go across the road and up a short slope then turn left along the side of the river. 5 EL BOSQUET From the AP7 junction 730 Catral Crevillent take the road to San Filipe Neri. Drive though the village passing the church on your right and keep going on this road for 5-6 kilometres. The entrance to El Bosquet is marked with a small sign on the right. MAP COORDINATES N W

6 BENIJOFAR Directions using AP7. Leave the motorway at Junction 743, signposted Algorfa, Benijofar. If coming from the direction of Alicante, on leaving the motorway you will come to an island. Go around the island and head towards Benijofar. Cross the motorway and at the next island go around as if you were going back on the motorway to Alicante. Just before the motorway entrance you will see a small cottage at the side of a small road. Take this road and keep going to the end where you will see a pump-house. Turn right and follow the track to where we meet by a low wall. If coming from the direction of Torrevieja, on leaving the motorway you will come to an island. Go around the island as if you were going back on the motorway to Alicante. Just before the motorway entrance you will see a small cottage at the side of a small road. 7 EMBALSE DE BENIARRES. From the A7-E15 exit at junction 70, keeping in the left-hand slip lane, bear left at the roundabout under the motorway onto the A7-A77 sign posted Alcoi/Alcoy. Stay on this road past Alcoy until you go through the two tunnels then take the exit sign posted Benimarfull. Stay on this road through Benimarfull heading for Planes. Just before you reach the outskirts of Planes you will see on your right-hand side of the road a small religious monument. IMMEDIATELY before this on the other side of the road is a tarmac track running parallel in the opposite direction you have just come from. Take a sharp U-turn and carry on down this track, you will see an old stop sign on your left, 50 meters further on at a fork in the track bear right and take it nice and steady as there are a few pot holes, it starts to get steeper and rutted but it is passable with care, follow to the end and you will see the Embalse in front of you. Update on the access to the water it is getting a lot more difficult to get back up the steep slope. Do not try by yourself. MAP COORDINATES N W
