1 Getting to the Voortrekker Camping Ground (Port Elizabeth) The Voortrekker Camping Ground outside Port Elizabeth is located between the famous Van Staadens bridge on the N2 and the equally famous narrow guage railway bridge which is only a few minutes walk away. 3 Route from Port Elizabeth via Old Cape Road (R102) Start out heading WEST on Cape Road and go out past Green bushes. West on Old Cape Road. Travel along this road and you will soon pass St Albans Prison. Keep heading straight. A little further down the road you will reach an intersection (the turn off to Uitenhage). There is a church on the corner. You simply keep going straight (passing the church on your right)

4 Further down this road you will get to Fitches Corner. Bear left towards Jeffreys bay/humansdorp but stay on the tarr! And a little further down the road you get the actual intersection. The other road goes to Rocklands and Uitenhage. You keep left on the R102. Continue until you see this intersection to the Voortrekkers grounds. Turn right here and follow the gravel road passing Highbrae and Falcon Rock to the T-junction at the end.

5 At the T-Junction, turn right (toward the mountain) and then follow the road as it turns through a 90 degree left turn. At the y-junction, turn left (down) and cross the railway line. Just after the railway crossing you need to turn left at this intersection. Follow the road all the way down to the gate

Heading West on the N2, Exit at 724 / St Albans / Blue Horizon Bay. This is the exit AFTER Seaview.

7 You arrive at the following intersection and turn right (towards the freeway): Follow this road until you reach a T-junction at the end of the road. Turn left to Jeffreys bay/humansdorp. This Road is the R102 Old Cape Road. Travel along this road and you will soon pass St Albans Prison. Keep heading straight.

8 A little further down the road you will reach an intersection (the turn off to Uitenhage). There is a church on the corner. 12 Shortly after the crossing you will turn right onto a gravel road. This gravel road is just before the road turns left in the photo above. The turn-off is marked with a sign or the Voortrekker camp grounds. Turn left and follow the road passing Highbrae and Falcon Rock to the T-junction at the end. At the T-Junction, turn right (toward the mountain) and then follow the road as it turns through a 90 degree left turn. At the y-junction, turn left (down) and cross the railway line.

13 Just after the railway crossing you need to turn left at this intersection. Follow the road all the way down to the gate

14 Route from Jeffreys bay via the N2 and Van Staadens Head East on the N2 (towards Port Elizabeth) crossing the Van Staadens River bridge. Heading East on the N2 towards Port Elizabeth, take exit 713/Van Stadens and turn left (towards the mountain). Follow the road until you reach the railway crossing. Shortly after the crossing you will turn right onto a gravel road. This gravel road is just before the road turns left in the photo above. The turn-off is marked with a sign or the Voortrekker camp grounds. Turn left and follow the road passing Highbrae and Falcon Rock to the T-junction at the end.

15 At the T-Junction, turn right (toward the mountain) and then follow the road as it turns through a 90 degree left turn. At the y-junction, turn left (down) and cross the railway line. Just after the railway crossing you need to turn left at this intersection. Follow the road all the way down to the gate

16 Route from Uitenhage via Rocklands (R334) Head out of Uitenhage on the Rocklands road toward Kwa Nobhule. Head out of Uitenhage via Rocklands Road, cross over the bridge and head up the hill towards Rocklands. Uncle Freddies is the nearest shop/petrol station to the Voortrekker Camping Ground.

17 When done looking at the bright lights of Rocklands, continue straight through, heading towards Jeffrey's bay. Continue until you see this intersection to the Voortrekkers grounds. Turn right here and follow the gravel road passing Highbrae and Falcon Rock to the T-junction at the end. At the T-Junction, turn right (toward the mountain) and then follow the road as it turns through a 90 degree left turn.

18 At the y-junction, turn left (down) and cross the railway line. Just after the railway crossing you need to turn left at this intersection. Follow the road all the way down to the gate
