1 The Third International Symposium on Citrus Biotechnology Nov 11 (Tue) - 14 (Fri), 2014 Marinart hall, Japan Schedule 11 Nov (Tue) 13 Nov (Thu) Symposium at Marinart - Oral presentations, plenary lectures: small hall (second floor) - Poster presentations: gallery (first floor) On-site registration will start at 10:0 am, and the symposium will be ended 5:15 pm. 14 Nov (Fri) Field excursion Program The program, timetable and presentation schedule is now available at the symposium website Instruction for the oral and poster presentations are also available on the website. On-site registration Early bird registration has been closed. On-site registration will open at 10:00 am of 11 Nov (Tue). The right is the on-site registration fee. We will accept the fee by cash (JPY) or by credit card. Excursion One-day excursion to visit citrus orchards and packing house in city and Mikkabi town is scheduled for November 14 (the fourth day). The registration fee includes the expense for the excursion with lunch. We will take the bus for the excursion. The bus is scheduled to leave at 9 am at Shimizu station, and return to the Shimizu station at 4 to 5 pm. All delegates who join the excursion are kindly requested to meet at the east exit of the Shimizu station by 8:40. Gmitter, Jr. (University of Florida) November 12 (Wed) Does β-cryptoxanthin Prevent Lifestyle-related Diseases? - Findings From The Recent Nutritional Epidemiologic Survey - Dr. Minoru Sugiura (NARO Institute of Fruit Tree Science) November 13(Thu) Mechanism of β-cryptoxanthin Accumulation in Citrus Fruits Prof. Masaya Kato ( University) Oral and Poster Presentations Oral presentations Oral presentations are scheduled for following four sessions from 11 (Tue) to 13 (Thu) November at the Small Hall (second floor). Oral session 1: Breeding, Genomics and Genetics Oral session 2: Physiologyand Production Oral session 3: Omics, Applications and merging Technologies Oral session 4: Stress, Pests and Diseases Overall time slot for each presentation in the oral session is 15 minutes for presentation followed by 3 minutes for discussion. Poster presentations The maximum size of poster is 100 cm in width by 150 cm in height. All posters must fit within this size. Poster presentation is scheduled in 12 (Wed) for odd number presentation, and 13 (Thu) for even number presentation at the Gallery A-B (first floor). 3 Lunch Bento (Japanese style lunch box) will be served at lunch with beverage. The registration fee covers the expense. You can choose Bento for vegetarian, if you requested upon your registration. Day care service for baby Marinart doesn t provide a day care service for baby, but several day care service centers are available around the station or Shimizu station. Please consult us if you need to use it. Social events Welcome mixer - 11 November (Tue) at Hatoba Kichen in S-Pulse dream plaza. Symposium dinner - 13 November (Thu) from 19:00 pm-21:00 pm at Grandair Bouquet Tokai near station. *) The registration fee includes expenses for both with lunch. Grandair Bouquet Tokai Venue The venue is in front of the Shimizu station and just a few minutes walk from the east exit of the station. The Shimizu station is the third stop from the station on the Tokaido line. It will take eleven minutes from station to Shimizu station. All trains from station will stop at Shimizu station. Trains are scheduled to run for every minutes in the daytime. All trains to the Shimizu station from the station depart from the Platform No.1 or No.2. The one-way fare is 240 JPY.
