Yuri Borodikhin Executive Director, Iteca LLP Exhibition The total exhibition area of WorldFood Kazakhstan 2012 was sq. m (5,893.2sq.m. in 2011). Four exhibitions were presented: WorldFood Food and Drinks, WorldFoodTech Equipment and Technologies, Ingredients Ingredients, Additives and Spices and a new sector - Bakery. Simultaneously with WorldFood, Pavilion 10 nearby hosted KazUpack Packaging, Tare and Labels and AgroWorld Agricultural Exhibition. WorldFood Kazakhstan 2012 Exhibitors 371 companies from 35 countries: Australia Hungary Republic of Belarus Austria India Rumania Belgium Italy Russia Bulgaria Kazakhstan Serbia China Korea Singapore Croatia Kyrgyzstan Slovakia Czech Republic Lithuania The Netherlands Denmark Malaysia Turkey Estonia Moldova UAE France Morocco Ukraine Georgia New Zealand USA Germany Poland Seven national pavilions made their first appearance at the exhibition - Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Serbia, Singapore, the Czech Republic and Estonia. 2

3 WorldFood Kazakhstan 2012 Visitors During its four days, the exhibition was attended by professional visitors from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, and other countries. Visitors by countries: Almaty 58,8% Kazakhstan 15,6% Kyrgyzstan 2,5% CIS countries 4,7% Abroad 3,5% Advertising for Visitors To ensure WorldFood efficiency, an advertising campaign was carried out: - Radio advertising on 3 Kazakhstan stations and 1 Kyrgyzstan. - Street banners - Promo campaigns in malls and business centres. - Advertising and published articles across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. - Direct mail of printed invitations to 10,000 addresses in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. - campaign with an e-ticket for the exhibition according to the CIS database of specialists, four weeks prior to the exhibition. 3

4 - Distribution of printed invitations via government structures, specialised associations and unions - Direct phone calls of those specialists in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, three weeks prior to the exhibition. - SMS sending, one week prior to the exhibition. - A press conference, on the opening day of the exhibition, attended by Kazakhstan TV channels, radio stations and print media. Registration Entrance 400 tenge (3$). Visitors and exhibitors had an opportunity to get pre-registered on and get a free personal pass to the exhibition. 4

5 Special Events 1. During WorldFood Kazakhstan, on 4th November, the Professional tasting competition The best Product was held. There were 108 products participating in the competition. According to the Commission decision 2 companies won Gran Pris award and 30 companies received Golden Medals for the Best Product. 2. The Night Reception was held on Day Two, 7 November, at the InterContinental Almaty Hotel. The Night Reception included an Award Ceremony for The Best Stand Design Competition.
