22 MARKET OPPORTUNITIES IN NORTH-WEST REGION ECOLOGY AIR (300 + companies) St. Petersburg is the largest in the northwest Russian industrial center and transportation hub. Emissions into the air of St. Petersburg in 2012 carried 579 enterprises. At the same time the number of vehicles registered in the city exceeded 1.7 million units.
