3 studentlife High School Winter Retreat Each year during the chill of a Florida winter, it s easy to fall into a slump, going back to school, and hitting the final stretch to summer. For High School Students, with everything going on, it s also easy to get down in the dirt when it comes to their faith and forget that they are a part of a bigger and better story. The studentlife High School Winter Retreat (HSWR) is a 2-night/3-day weekend experience where High School Students have the opportunity to have fun building friendships, and making memories by having real conversations in Life Groups, getting crazy during Large-Group Activities, learning life-changing lessons in Break Outs, and being immersed in great Main Sessions. Our hope for your students, most importantly, is to grow in their faith as they grow closer to God. This Information Packet has everything from the where and when, to the how and what. This is everything you need including a packing list and expectations for students, along with other crucial information. By understanding this packet, and being informed about what to expect from this Winter Retreat, together, we can ensure a safe and impactful experience for all students. WHERE IS IT? The 2018 High School Winter Retreat will be held at Camp Crystal Lake in Keystone Heights, FL. Camp Crystal Lake is a school board-run facility that has cabins/dorms, fields, a cafeteria, recreational areas, meeting spaces, a campfire area, and everything else we need to have a great time! LODGING? Each cabin/dorm can hold 19 people including 2+ adult leaders in each. Students will be assigned according to gender and grade (roughly). Considerations will be made, but it s the idea that we want students to experience the Winter Retreat with their Life Group. They ll hang out with their friends for sure, but they ll also make new friends, and we ll have great memories as a united whole. WHEN IS IT? January 12th, 13th, and 14th (3-days, 2-nights). There will only be 3 drop-off locations: Real Life East Orlando, Hunter s Creek and Clermont Campuses. Transportation to the camp will depart directly from those 3 campuses. Please be at your closest location BY 5:30PM. Please be sure to be there promptly. If you have questions about getting to these three drop-off locations please contact the following leaders: East Orlando Andy Funes Hunter s Creek Amos Smith Clermont George Lin Please contact your local Staff Leader for other travel arrangements. Please refer to your campus leadership for specific return/pick-up time.
