1 Welcome To Base Camp! Students, You ve heard it said that God is real, The Bible is His word, Jesus is His Son, and The Gospel is worth sharing. It s likely that you already believe these things. Have you ever wondered why these things are believable? At Base Camp we re going to help you see that our Christian faith is not a blind faith, wrestling with hard questions is healthy & normal, and sharing The Gospel is something that all Christians are called and equipped to do. We pray you ll make the most of this opportunity! Read on for supplies to bring, camp rules, dress code, camp map, and emergency contact information. 2 What Should I Bring? Mandatory Items: 1. Bring enough clothes for 5 days and 4 nights. 2. Bring pillows and bedding (dorm mattresses are bare). 3. Bring personal hygiene items, shower items, soap, and towels. 4. Bring a notebook for notes and pens or pencils. 5. Bring your Bibles! Optional Items: 1. All meals are included with tuition but you may bring snacks. 2. Bring your laptop, tablets, and phones. 3. Bring a lightweight backpack. 4. Bring your journal. 5. Bring your lightweight musical instruments. NOTE: Neither Faith Ascent or Lindenwood are responsible for items lost, stolen, or left behind. Be wise and be responsible!

3 What Are The Rules? 1. Weapons of any kind are not permitted (including pocket knives). 2. Fighting is not tolerated. 3. Proper behavior is expected. This includes language, gestures, attitudes, etc. 4. Campers are not permitted anywhere on campus except those areas designated to Base Camp. 5. Matches, lighters, fireworks, firecrackers, etc. are not allowed. 6. Insubordination will not be tolerated. This includes disregarding directions given by staff or volunteers. 7. Possession or use of cigarettes, alcohol, or illegal drugs will not be tolerated. 8. Mandatory check-ins at designated times and places will be required. 9. Males are not allowed in the female sleeping area and females are not allowed in the male sleeping area. 10. Inappropriate displays of affection between students will not be tolerated. 11. Cell phones, laptops, and tablets are allowed in the dorms and common areas during breaks and free time. 12. Cell phones, laptops, and tablets are allowed in lectures for note taking and Bible reading only. Web activity is monitored. NOTE: Camp leadership reserves the right to send students home for inappropriate, unpleasant, or dangerous conduct of any kind. No refunds will be given.

4 What s The Dress Code? For the Guys: 1. Shirts should have short or long sleeves, should be long enough to cover your waistline (no midriff or boxers visible), and should not have large holes. 2. Jeans or pants should not have large holes, should be worn high enough so that the waistline is covered by your shirt, and should not be too tight. Please avoid short shorts. For the Girls: 1. Shirts shouldn t be sleeveless (unless you are layering), too sheer, too tight, too short, or too low cut. Stretch, bend, and lean to do a self-check. (No breast or midriff should be showing.) 2. Jeans, pants, skirts, and shorts should not be sheer, too tight, or have inappropriate holes. Please avoid short shorts and short skirts. For Everyone: 1. We require that you adhere to the above guidelines when outside of your dorm room. In the privacy of your dorm room, pajamas and sleeping attire don t necessarily need to adhere to the above guidelines. However, we ask that you USE YOUR BEST JUDGEMENT and respect your roommates! Ask your parents or guardian to assess your best judgement before you pack. 2. We recommend that you bring a light jacket or hooded sweatshirt. The lecture rooms are air-conditioned and can get very cool. 3. Pack for indoor as well as outdoor activity. Outdoor sports, frisbee, capture the flag, etc. will be free time options for students that choose to participate.
