Snowdrops and Crocus are blooming, they look so brave and bold. Despite frost and sunless days they know it s their time to grow. It always completely amazes me how seeds and bulbs just know. There are scientific explanations but the miracle of life is there, without which unseen power our gardens would all be bare. Make time within the next few weeks to not only look but to see all wonders of life around us, woven together so intricately. Vibrant colours of petals, of stamens and all that s green, delicate, fragile and yet so strong, nature s beautifully created spring scene. Jean Kay Poems on Request 1

2 Community Centre Newsletter March 2018 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Community Centre Instructor needed for new Beginners Bridge classes on Mondays 13 pm. Kitchen help 102am on Tuesdays and spares for all shifts. Reception Various shifts available West Court & South Court Friendly visitors Luncheon on February 16th It was fun MCing the Friday luncheon with ShirLee. We gave away three door prizes. The Share the Wealth Draw meant we were able to give KinVillage $45.00 and two folks won $22.50 each. The audience appreciated Dennis talent on the saxophone, the flute, and the clarinet. If you would like to volunteer please pick up an application form at Reception. As with all other community organizations, we are required to have on file a Criminal Records Check report. You can get the required request form from John. Please provide a copy of that report, along with your application when you meet with John. To make an appointment please call or jlusted@kinvillage.org Unique Boutique If you love clothes and love to shop, we have a volunteer job for you working with high quality, gentlyused women s clothing and accessories. We are looking for enthusiastic people to work either 10:00 am 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm 3:00 pm one shift per week Call John at ext. 262 jlusted@kinvillage.org Receptionists Are Ambassadors for KinVillage Community Centre We are looking for energetic volunteers who enjoy helping people. We need volunteers who would be comfortable handling ticket sales, cash/credit/debit and answering questions which comprises most of the shift time. If you are available for one shift per week from either 9am to Noon or Noon to 3 pm, please contact John Lusted at or him at jlusted@kinvillage.org Attention Customers of Reception and the Boutique. Final sales will be at 2:45 pm each day. This will allow volunteers 15 minutes to close their tills and cash out for the day. Thank you for your business. 2
