2 Welcome to Summer Camp at Merryhill Elementary School - Durango Summer Camp offers fun-filled summer programs for children ages Each week, campers jump into action, participating in exciting sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, playing a part in group activities, and attending special events. Our campers have the opportunity to expand their horizons during the summer, embarking on new adventures, and having fun! Our exceptional program and dedicated staff create an environment that forges lifelong friendships among our campers. We create a summer experience that is unforgettable! It all starts with our outstanding camp counselors. A camp is only as good as its staff, and we are extremely proud of ours. Talent, creativity, love of children, leadership and devotion make our camp counselors the heart and soul of the program. We take our camp programs seriously and begin our summer with intensive staff training and orientation. Summer Camp counselors and specialists are doing exactly what they enjoy most: spending a summer inspiring campers to explore, reach for new heights, and expand their horizons. Merryhill Summer Camp gives you choices. Summer Camp includes five days of activities, from 9:00 am 3:00 pm. You can choose to add extended hours and specialty camps to your menu of summer fun. We offer a range of indoor activities conducted in our fully air conditioned facility. Our specialty camps are optional programs, operating during regular camp hours, which provide even more choices for unique and exciting adventures. We will end the week with a space age glow party with dancing and cake. This week s fantastic field trip will test our Jedi skills at Laser Tag.

This week gets wild and wacky with campers travelling through their own magical candy filled worlds.

Explore the wild on our trip to the Springs Preserve s Jurassic exhibit. Dates: Monday, June 22 nd - Friday, June 26th Nightmare Before Christmas! This is Halloween!

4 Your award-winning summer awaits you Star Wars! In a galaxy far, far away campers start off their summer with a trip to space! We ll kick off summer 2015 with an exciting week of space exploration, Jedi knights and using the force for fun! Join us in making this the best summer yet! We will end the week with a space age glow party with dancing and cake. This week s fantastic field trip will test our Jedi skills at Laser Tag. Dates: Monday, June 8 th - Friday, June 12 th Willy Wonka! Grab hold of a Golden Ticket and enter the magical world of Willy Wonka! This week gets wild and wacky with campers travelling through their own magical candy filled worlds. We will wrap up our week of wonderment with an ice cream bar with candy toppings that would make Willy Wonka proud! This week s sweet field trip will take us to Ethyl M Chocolates. Dates: Monday, June 15 th - Friday, June 19 th Jurassic Park! Dinosaurs are no longer a thing of the past this week! Find out what it takes to be an archeologist and a scientist, and become a dinosaur expert. After our week of training we will test our mastery with a scavenger hunt for our explorers to conquer. Explore the wild on our trip to the Springs Preserve s Jurassic exhibit. Dates: Monday, June 22 nd - Friday, June 26th Nightmare Before Christmas! This is Halloween! This is Halloween! Dare to be a part of our week jam packed with holiday fun. We are creating a holiday super week with the celebration of Halloween, Christmas, Fourth of July, and others all leading up to a super spooky Halloween dance party. Become a Jumping Jack Skellington this week during our trip to Gravady. Dates: Tuesday, June 29 th - Thursday, July 2 nd Merryhill Idol! Who will be the next Merryhill Idol? All of our campers, of course! This week is always special because campers are STARS!!! Be ready to rehearse and let your unique talents SPARKLE and SHINE at our Friday Merryhill Idol event! Bowl everyone over with your talent on our field trip to Red Rock Lanes. Dates: Monday, July 6 th - Friday, July 10 th Despicable Me! Assemble the Minions! Let s all get a little despicable as we work our way down the red carpet this week in preparation for our Oscars party where each camper will receive a special award. Get fancy and strike a pose for the paparazzi with this fun filled week of glamour. This week s field trip takes us to the theater for the new Minions movie. Dates: Monday, July 13 th - Friday, July 17 th

There will be NO hot lunches served. Also, don t forget a water bottle! We will be offering our popular Pizza Fridays each Friday of camp!

Test your skills in the kitchen this week with a fun filled week of food. This week will be packed with extra cooking classes and a challenge or two to get our creative juices flowing. Take a trip with us to another fun mouse at Chuck E. Cheese. Dates: Monday, July 20 th - Friday July 24 th All the World s a Stage! We re bringing the stage to life this week! This week is always a hit because our camp actors and actresses steal the show in our annual Camp Play! If the stage is not for you, then join our terrific props and backstage teams! See all your favorite stars up close and personal on our trip this week to Madame Tussauds. Dates: Monday, July 27 th - Friday, July 31 st Tasty tidbits for Summer 2015 A well-prepared camper is a happy camper! Campers can pack their own tasty lunches Monday through Thursday of each week. There will be NO hot lunches served. Also, don t forget a water bottle! We will be offering our popular Pizza Fridays each Friday of camp! For just $5, your camper gets cheese pizza, fruit snacks, and a beverage, too! Yummy!!! Titanic! Summer 2015 comes to an award-winning close with High Tea on the Titanic! Climb aboard the most infamous cruise liner to ever hit the high seas! Learn about the history and drama behind the Titanic s short lived life. Celebrate an amazing summer on our last Friday with a high class Tea Party filled with fun, food, and, of course, CAKE! Submerge yourself in the story as we take a field trip to the Titanic Exhibition. Free Swim!!! The primary goal of free swim is safe fun in the sun! Weekly water play and free swim allows our campers to stay cool but still enjoy some fun in the sun. Campers should pack water clothes, a towel and sunscreen to be prepared for water play. Participants will be broken into small groups based upon age, but will also be able to enjoy whole group water wars. All swimmers are swim tested at their first free swim experience.
