You are invited to the Juneau Country Tavern League Holiday Party. When: Sunday, January 18th Where: Target Bluff, Camp Douglas Cocktails at 6:00 Dinner at 7:00 Thanks to KNUTS Pub for the last meeting. Raffle drawings and entertainment to follow All members are invited, to bring spouses/significant others, employees, customers. The cost is only $10.00 per person (includes tax, not tip) to make reservations RSVP to Donna Case at Fresh and Frozen Seafood by January 10th.

3 Juneau County Meeting Held December 15th at Knuts Pub GENERAL MEETING: Meeting called to order by Jack Hall Attendance: 25 members. Introductions done. New Members: no new members Secretary s report-everyone acknowledged receipt of the minutes from the last meeting in newsletter. Motion to approve minutes was made by Dave and seconded by Brian. Treasurer s report : motion made by Tuna and seconded by Larry to approve the treasurer s report. Speakers: No speakers or guests Unfinished Business: Just a reminder to get your Safe ride to Nancy Ennis and your donation sheets to Joyce It is so important to have all your staff trained on the Safe ride program and how it works. Let s make this a safe and Happy Holiday season. Jack talked about the ads for Safe ride and tuna said that the safe ride is picking up. More customers are using it. Tuna talked about putting some of our money in Cd s. This was tabled until our next directors meeting. We gave to Operation Home Front $667 plus. You can still sell them and send the money to the address in Camp Douglas. This year we made $2, on the Sportsman raffle compared to $ last year. We talked about ways to improve this raffle as it is one of our biggest money makers. We all liked doing the posters in orange. Get your Bartenders excited to sell the tickets. (run a contest to see who sells the most) Don t forget the TLW cruise in February. Jax s from the Veterans Memorial Hall in Necedah won the TLW Cruise at the convention, see it does pay to go to convention. You not only learn a lot you can win a cruise. New Business By-Laws have been handed out and mailed out. Please take some time before the February meeting to look them over. We will be discussing them and voting to approve them. 3rd District Pool tournament will be held in LaCrosse. April 23 thru the 24th. More details to follow. ATV Poker run is May 1st thru the 9th. The party will be on the 9th at Reel Inn, Necedah, Wi. The motion was made by Kim and seconded by Nancy to put the names in a hat and draw from the business that were at the meeting to get the host Bar. 4 Legislative Day is February 24th. We would like as many people as possible to go. There will be a bus. 3 buses will go and be paid for by the 3rd District. Many important things on the agenda. Smoking Ban, ignition interlocks, and drunk driving laws. It is very important to get a good turnout. Hope to see you all at the Party, January 18th at Target Bluff. All the information is on the front page. Let s have a great turnout. Get your donations to Gary Tovsen. NEXT MEETING -- Will be held at The Wilderness Inn in February. No meeting in January, just the party. The Saferide and Treasures books will be audited at the February Directors meeting. If you have any Sunshine please call Donna Case or Jack Hall. They will take care of this. GOOD AND WELFARE Sunshine Card for John Randall, had hip replaced-also Jackie from the Vets Hall had surgery, sent card. $2 - DRAWING - Jack Hall won $5 - DRAWING - American Legion New Lisbon ( not present) Brian made the motion to adjourn the meeting and everyone seconded it. 7 Jack Hall, Shipwreck N7265 Shacks Road WI The Bartender Ever since I was a child, I ve always had a fear of someone under my bed at night. So I went to a shrink and told him my problem. Just put yourself in my hands for one year, said the shrink, Come talk to me three times a week, and we should be able to get rid of those fears. How much do you charge? Eighty dollars per visit. Replied the doctor. I ll sleep on it I said. Six months later the doctor met me on the street. Why didn t you ever come to see me about those fears you were having? He asked. Well, eighty bucks a visit three times a week for a year is an awful lot of money! A bartender cured me for $10.I was so happy to have saved all that money that I went out and bought me a new pickup! Is that so? With an attitude he asked. And how may I ask did a bartender cure you? He told me to cut the legs off the bed! Ain t nobody under there now!!! TO HECK WITH THOES SHRINKS...GO HAVE A DRINK &TALK TO YOUR BARTENDER Taken from the bartender magazine Please promote use of the SafeRide Program whenever possible. Cab Service is available in some areas during their hours, however, the TLW Good Samaritan program is available to all members of the TLW anytime. If you can provide a driver (100%sober, with a valid driver s license and covered by insurance) JCTL will reimburse your driver for taking a patron home. This is only good for rides home (not to another establishment). Pick up vouchers at the meetings or contact the JCTL SafeRide Coordinator if you need more details. Nancy Ennis cell phone is
