TCMG Holiday Toy Drive Our toys will go to the Foster Children s Resource Center, run by the Hilltoppers Auxiliary, a part of the Assistance League of Los Angeles. TCMG member, Esther Belland, is a long time volunteer with this organization. Their biggest need is for toys and games for kids 6 months to 6 years. Also AXE cologne and body spray sets are popular for the teenage boys and Monopoly is a favorite board game. (DO NOT gift wrap)

Remembering Tony Henkels Services for Tony were October 2nd in Pasadena. 25 TC Motoring Guild members and 5 TCs were there to pay him respect.

Tony was born on June 2, 1928 and passed peacefully at home on Sept. 12 at the age of 87. He served in the US Army during the Korean war.

His retirement in his own garage was happy, always making custom parts and repairing antique objects for friends and family.

He is also survived by 4 sisters and 7 brothers from a family of 15 children. Cindy said this urn couldn t be more perfect for Tony.

Several years ago a friend of ours asked me if he could sneak it out of the garage and have some lettering done on it for Tony s 80th birthday.

In addition to the TCs, other vintage automobiles, plus Tony s XK120 and his Lincoln were there. Tony was born on June 2, 1928 and passed peacefully at home on Sept. 12 at the age of 87. He served in the US Army during the Korean war. Tony s early career included machining pistons for Fordged True Mfg. and was a Master Tool & Die Machinist at Calgo Mfg. His retirement in his own garage was happy, always making custom parts and repairing antique objects for friends and family. He is survived by his wife Cindy, a son and 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 sisters and 7 brothers from a family of 15 children. Cindy said this urn couldn t be more perfect for Tony. You might have seen it in his garage on top of his big tool chest to the left as you walk into the garage. Several years ago a friend of ours asked me if he could sneak it out of the garage and have some lettering done on it for Tony s 80th birthday. It came out fabulous!! It is an old milk can from It was a prize piece that Tony loved!! Of course we had it at the Rosary, Mass and at the Reception. EVERYONE absolutely loved it!! We took some of the ashes before going to the cemetery and put them into an old small oil can to be put inside the urn when we brought it home and Tony will always be in his garage! The services were so very special with a lot of special touches and such a great tribute to such a great man! 5 59th Annual TCMG / ARR Conclave The 59th annual conclave was well attended with 49 people and 14 TCs taking part. Six additional TCs planned to make it but were left home for various technical reasons. The southern caravan met for breakfast at a vineyard (how appropriate!) in Westlake Village before departing for Cambria. Five TCs driven by Simmons, Loe, Hanes, Buckeridge and Spindler plus a group of moderns departed together, with two more TCs (Thelander, Page) leaving early for a pit stop at Moss Motors. Thelander s TC had fuel-related issues and was abandoned at Larry Long s garage in Orcutt, where a modern car was borrowed to finish the journey north. The Wright TC joined the caravan at our lunch stop. As the northern and southern groups descended upon our hotel, TCs and old friends filled the parking lot to greet one another. The Friday night happy hour was enjoyed by all, with a wide assortment of refreshments brought by Linda Simmons. The group split up for an on your own dinner, visiting most of the restaurants in town before the night was over. Saturday s activities began with a brief driver s meeting and then a driving tour. We explored several picturesque back roads, stopping at two local wineries before descending into Paso Robles for a tour of Estrella Warbird Museum. A local parade had split the town in two but we somehow managed to get through all the classic cars, tractors and horsedrawn wagons for an unplanned lunch stop at a wonderful local restaurant. September 22 nd Meeting Minutes Our September TCMG meeting was called to order at 8:04 by our fine president, Gorden Bundy. However we did not resemble order for another minute our so.

Treasurer s President Gorden report was approved without question as posted on the wall of our meeting room as well. A report of the recent Gene Autry Museum run about ten days ago was given.

We complimented the Simmons on another fine tour for the TCMG. Steve then gave an update on the Conclave plans in Cambria. Had 51 signed up so far with 20 TCs expected to attend.

Someone mentioned that there was a very nice warbird museum in Paso Robles if they needed activities to include. Gorden mentioned a pretty nice event that will be at the Descanso Gardens in October.

Our End of Year Party is at the Hotel Huntington in Huntington Beach the evening of Dec 13. Contract is signed and we are obligated to cover at least $1750 in food and $400 at the bar.

At this point a location has not been determined yet but the Steering Committee has agreed to have a company suggest locations between Oxnard and Monterey.

Our October Halloween dinner/ meeting is Oct 27th. Jan and Bobbie are heading up the planning. Main course will be pizza which the club buys. Salad and beverages will also be supplied.

Thinking we had covered all business, we quickly made and passed a motion to adjourn and we ended the meeting at 8:48 to break for refreshments and set up the Route 66 video for the program. However after the break, Joyce reminded us that we needed to remind everyone that nominations for the new 2016 board are to take place at our next meeting.
