1 2016 CCRG JAMBOREE WELCOME LETTER April 15-17, 2016 The Sierra A s would like to welcome all our Model A friends to the 2016 CCRG Jamboree. The very first CCRG Jamboree was held just a couple of miles from here 24 years ago and attended by about 100 people. Every year since then, the host clubs have continued to raise the bar making the Jamborees the most anticipated event of the year. We hope to continue this history of excellence making by your stay here very memorable and enjoyable. You will find your 2016 CCRG Jamboree Entry Form attached. You can also find the application on the MAFCA website in the MAFCA Activities Calendar and on our website, Our host hotel is the Homewood Suites in Clovis. They offer a free light dinner on Thursday night and a full breakfast every day. Their phone number is Please ask for the Sierra Model A Ford Club to receive the group rate. The companion hotel is the Hampton Inn and Suites. It is on the same site and shares the same parking lot as the host hotel. It is just a short walk across the entry drive from one hotel to the other. They offer a full breakfast every day. The tours will be leaving at staggered times so be sure to check your tour schedule as to the time and location that your tour will depart. Many of the tours will end in Clovis for lunch and antique shopping. We have planned a great banquet at Wolf Lakes Park which will include boat rides on the lake, fine dining and live entertainment. The banquet will include four appetizers to choose from, salad, a New York steak and mesquite salmon on each plate, a vegetable, golden potatoes, beverage and desert. Boat rides will start at 4:00 PM and the no-host bar will be open. Appetizers will be served a 5:00 PM and the dinner will be served at 6:00 PM. Wolf Lakes Park is an easy 6.5 mile drive from the hotels. We encourage you to wear your period clothing for some good photo ops. We will have a repair tent set up in the parking lot and a truck and trailer on call for any breakdowns. Please call Larry Cottom at if you need asststance. TOUR #1 - BUS TOUR TO YOSEMITE Friday 2016 CCRG JAMBOREE TOUR DESCRIPTIONS The bus will leave the hotels at 6:30 AM Friday and return to the hotels at about 3:30 PM.

2 TOUR #1 - BUS TOUR TO YOSEMITE Friday 2016 CCRG JAMBOREE TOUR DESCRIPTIONS The bus will leave the hotels at 6:30 AM Friday and return to the hotels at about 3:30 PM. You will be taken to the Yosemite Village where free trams can be taken for tours throughout the park. Your cost includes a box lunch with a beverage which will be provided by the bus charter. TOUR #2 - UNDERGROUND GARDENS-LAWSON AUTO COLLECTION-SABITTINI AUTO MUSEUM-CHAFFEE ZOO-Friday This tour will be divided into three sections, each leaving the hotels begining at 8:25 AM, each starting at a different location and all three ending at the Zoo for lunch on your own and an afternoon visit of the Zoo. Forestiere Underground gardens was hand dug in the Fresno hardpan by Baldassare Forestiere and is a must see to believe. John Lawson has over 140 cars in his collection and it is still growing. More than 70 of them are 32 Fords. All of them are restored, batterty charged and ready to drive. The Sabittini Auto Museum is a family collection of retired racing cars, model racing cars, tethered racing cars, remote control airplanes and a large collection of racing memorabilia. TOUR #3 - FRESNO CHAFFEE ZOO MORNING TOUR - Friday This tour will leave the hotels at 9:00 AM and return after lunch. The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is considered by some to be one of the best zoos in the world. The newly opened 13 acre African Adventure is an open African plain with Lions, Rinos, Cheetahs, Meerkats and more roaming free. The observation platform will allow you to be eye to eye with the Giraffes. You can eat your lunch (lunch is on your own) on the patio in the new Safari Café while you look out over the African Plain watching the animals interact in their native habitat. This and the Sea Lion Cove is a must see. TOUR #4 - BLAIN MOTORSPORTS - Saturday This tour will leave the hotels at 7:30 AM and return to the hotels by 12:30 PM. Blain Motorsports is in Visalia where they restore and then race vintage racing cars. They feel these cars were meant to be raced not just displayed, and they still race them. Their complete restoration facility will be available for touring. Refreshments will be served during the tour. TOUR #5 WATTS AUTO MEMORABILIA-CLOVIS BOTANICAL GARDENS-DAN ROUIT MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM -Saturday This tour will leave the hotels at 9:00 AM and tour all three locations, ending at the Motorcycle Museum. Paul Watts is a member of our club and has an eclectic collection of auto memorabilia. The Clovis Botanical Garden is most beautiful in the spring. They have an extensive collection of drought-tolerant plants. The Dan Rouit Motorcycle Museum is dedicated to flat track and speedway racing motorcycles. It is a large collection of motorcycles and racing memorabilia. Refreshments will be served during the tour. Vintage racing movies will be shown on a large screen TV. Mike Keith, a member of our club who still races motorcycles, will lead us. All three of these sites are in Clovis and just a short drive from the hotels. 5 MODEL A FORD CLUB OF AMERICA WAIVER, INDEMNIFICATION RELEASE AGREEMENT IN CONSIDERATION OF BEING PERMITTED TO VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATE (AT MY REQUEST) IN THE EVENT OF MODEL A FORD CLUB OF AMERICA ( MAFCA ), ITS CHAPTERS, REGIONS AND/OR SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS REFERRED TO BELOW ( EVENT ), THE UNDERSIGNED AGREE(S) TO THE FOLLOWING: 1. THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY RELEASES, WAIVES, DISCHARGES AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE MAFCA, ITS CHAPTERS, REGIONS OR SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS, THEIR EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS AND AGENTS ( Releasees ) from all liability to the undersigned, his or her or their personal representatives, assigns, heirs, family members and next of kin ( Releasors ) for any loss, damage, or claim therefor on account of injury to the person or property of the Releasors, whether caused by any negligent act or omission or other fault of the Releasees or otherwise while the undersigned is participating in the Event or using any of Releasees facilities in connection with the Event. 2. THE RELEASORS HEREBY AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the Releasees from all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, charges, expenses, and attorney fees and all other costs resulting from involvement in the Event whether caused by any negligent act or omission or other fault of the Releasees or otherwise. 3. THE RELEASORS HEREBY ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR AND RISK OF PERSONAL OR BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE while upon Releasee property or participating in the Event or using any Releasee facilities and/or equipment whether caused by any negligent act or omission or other fault of Releasees or otherwise. The Releasors expressly agree that the foregoing release and waiver, indemnity agreement and assumption of risk are intended to be and shall be interpreted and applied as broad and inclusive as permitted by applicable law. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ THE FOREGOING, THAT I AM VOLUNTARILY ENTERING INTO THIS AGREEMENT AND THAT I AM AWARE OF THE LEGAL CONSEQUENCES OF THIS AGREEMENT, including that it prevents me, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, family members and next of kin from suing the Releasees if I am injured or damaged for any reason as a result of participation in the Event. IF THE PARTICIPANT IS A MINOR, HIS OR HER CUSTODIAL PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST READ AND EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT WHERE INDICATED BELOW. I hereby warrant and represent that I am the legal guardian or custodial parent of the minor named below, who is a minor, and agree, on my own and said minor s behalf to the terms and conditions of the foregoing agreement. I understand that I may talk to my legal advisor about this agreement and I have either done so or chosen not to. I understand that I have the right and have been given the opportunity to object to and bargain about the provisions of this agreement. I am voluntarily signing this agreement and intend it to be the unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by applicable law. BEFORE SIGNING, I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS ENTIRE AGREEMENT: If any accident, injury, death or damage to personal property occurs, you (by signing this agreement) will be giving up certain legal rights. If any part of this agreement is held invalid, the rest of the provisions shall remain in effect. If you do not understand anything in this agreement, you should not sign it and you should instead consult your legal advisor.
