These clinics are designed to improve your ability to ski steep un groomed terrain. We will work on maintaining rhythm and flow through all terrain and conditions. Looking for that great Christmas present for a certain someone, maybe a cousin or beginner, or someone who can t get up to the mountain on the weekends but wants to ski after work. Ski Bowl Night passes now sell for $149, but Louise is selling one for $100. Please call her if interested. Looking for a Hike? Try the December Bark-About Hike When: Sun, Dec 8th at 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Bark offers free, monthly hikes to Mt. Hood National Forest and surrounding public lands which are led by passionate, knowledgeable volunteers. Join hike leader Audie Fuller for our December Bark-About, witness the breathtaking Cascade ecosystem and learn about the many threats it faces. The forest is beautiful this time of year, so don't let the cold keep you indoors! Please be prepared to hike off trail. Bring lunch, water, and sturdy boots. The weather is very unpredictable this time of year, so don't forget extra layers of clothes and water resistant gear. To protect off-trail resources, we ask that you leave your dog at home. Carpools will meet at the Hollywood Trader Joe's, 4121 NE Halsey in Portland at 9 am sharp. It is across the street from the Hollywood Transit Center, near the I-84 exit 2. If you are able to drive, we greatly appreciate your contribution to helping make a successful hike. If you are looking for a ride, please come prepared to reimburse your driver. If you would like to try to arrange a meet up closer to the forest, please contact the Bark office the week before the hike. Call Bark at for more details and information. Meet this years recipient of the Erin Nichole Scholarship Award Congratulations Elyse Burandt for being awarded the Erin Nicole Scholarship for the 2013/2014 season! The Erin Nicole Scholarship is awarded to an up and coming female ski racer. The FWSA scholarship program is partnered with Skiyente Ski Club. It is hoped that this partnership will prove to be a model for other ski clubs and organizations that desire to participate directly in the sponsorship of young ski racers. Christmas Tree Lighting at Timberline Lodge December 13 Each year we find a beautiful 30 tall evergreen to adorn the Main Lobby Headhouse and kick off the holidays! Join us on Friday December 13th at 6 pm when we officially light up the tree. Afterwards continue the fun and help us decorate. You may also enjoy the view from the Ram s Head Bar and Restaurant with a warm or frosty beverage. Brew Fest at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort Dec. 7th 12:00 pm 6:00 pm Taste some of the NW s Best microbrews! Several breweries will offer sampling of their microbrews. $10 entry (21 and over ) includes a glass mug and 4 chits. Come and make a toast to a great season.

7 SKIYENTE PROPOSED BYLAWS CHANGES Red = Changes Green = Take out Article II Amendments Section 3 Amendments to Standing Rules may be made at a general meeting and voted on at any time. Article III Officers Section 3 The above named Officers shall be elected at the May General meeting ballots resulting in a majority vote of the members present. Nominations for Officers will be closed one General meeting prior to voting. remain open until voting for said officers takes place. Article IV Duties of Officers Section 1 President 2. Instigates and directs the execution of the Club program and policy, and authorized incurrence of obligations in accordance with the expressed will of the Membership. Section 3 Secretary 5. Sends a copy of minutes no later than the Friday following each meeting to the President and the Editor. Board. 6. Provides minutes to the Membership prior to the next general meeting. Section 4 Treasurer 4. Is responsible to the Budget Committee for the accuracy and balance of all financial transactions and records. Section 10 N.W.S.C.C. (Appointive Office) 1. Maintains file and is responsible for all N.W.S.C.C correspondence, By Laws, etc. Attends all NWSCC meetings. Notifies the President if unable to attend meeting. 4. Maintains summary files for three (3) years, retiring prior years to properties. Section 11 Webmistress (Appointive Office) 4. Maintains service contract with web service provider. Section 12 Listserve Monitor (Appointive Position) 1. Manages the Club s address; answering and/or forwarding necessary communications to Membership/ Board. 2. Follows usage guidelines by the executive Board (available upon request). Section 13 Race Director (Appointive Position) 5. Maintains race attendance for Treasurer and Chairperson for PACRAT reimbursement. And membership purposes. Article V Section 1 1. Executive Committee consists of elective elected and appointive appointed officers. The past president and the chairpersons of any pending activity. Meeting of this committee shall be open to any member or guest. Section 5 1. The WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE The Chairperson shall be appointed by the President. The Chair will in turn appoint a committee of no less than 3 additional members for the purpose of acquiring donations to support club activities and functions. Article VIII Section 1 The ANNUAL DUES for Active members shall be payable at the first General Meeting of the Club year. Dues shall be considered delinquent following the second General meeting of the new Club year. Any member who has neither paid her dues nor made satisfactory arrangements with the Executive Board by November December 1st shall have voting privileges revoked and $5.00 assessed per month until paid in full (not to exceed $10.00). Hardships will be handled at the discretion of the Executive Board. Article X Section 4 Debriefing of function to be held after each event at the next general meeting to be included in function summary. Section 6 Function Chairs must obtain approval from Executive Committee the Board of any potential overexpenditures of their function budget.
