Christmas and New Year speciality programs are operated from 1 st ember 2014 until 5 th January FAMILY SAFARI WITH HUSKIES Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday (11:00-13:00) Family safari with husky teams. After a short car drive from town, we ll arrive at a husky ranch, where these friendly dogs will bark an enthusiastic welcome to you. Before departing on a child friendly minute husky ride, you will be given instruction on how to control the sleds, which you will ride in families. Enjoy some hot berry juice by an open fire and chat with the head musher about these amazing northern animals once you return to the ranch. DURATION WITH TRANSFERS: 2-2,5 hours (husky ride minutes) PRICE: EUR 118/adult and EUR 88 / child 4-14 years SNOWFUN DAY Only Thursday 25 th (11:30 14:30) Coach transfer to the Snowfun site to experience all the activities possible in snow: mini snowmobiles, medium sized snowmobiles for adults to take about 15 minute snowmobile safari, and 4 wheeled forest scooters for everyone to enjoy! There are kick sledges, a toboggan run, ice golfing, snowshoes and skies to try out. Have fun while ice fishing and take part in a snow hockey game. Hot drinks are served by the campfires throughout the stay. In a big kota tepee you can fry sausages and enjoy lovely hot soup. DURATION: 3 hours PRICE: EUR 99 /person VISIT HUSKY MUSHERS CAMP Only Mon 22 nd, Tue 23 rd and Fri 26 th (17:00-19:00) Enjoy nice moment with friendly husky dogs. The journey starts from the Safari Club! After this you will have short car transfer to the husky camp, where upon arrival the friendly huskies bark you welcome! The musher of the camp tells about the life of these wonderful dogs, their nature and training. You also take a short ride in the forest in a sledge pulled by a husky dog team who all love running! When back in the camp you can enjoy a cup of hot berry juice before returning back to town. DURATION: 2 hours PRICE: EUR 70/person MOONLIGHT SAFARI ON SNOWMOBILES Only Tue 23 rd, Thu 25 th and Fri 26 th (17:00-19:00) Experience the Arctic night by driving through the snow-covered forest. With a little luck, you have the bright sky the moon and the stars, maybe even the Aurora Borealis - the northern lights - showing you the way. 2 TRIP TO SANTA S HIDEAWAY Only Wed (11:00 15:00) Everyone in Lapland knows that Santa has a secret hideaway where he goes to relax. Now also you will have a chance to see this hideaway. Santa him self will not be there. He is a bit busy now. But he has left you a message. You just have to find it! This trip starts with about ½ hour guided coach transfer to a forest hut. The coach is stopped by different animals of the forest; bears and hares will guide the guests through a winding trail. Here and there you may even see Santa s little helpers hiding in forest. Some of them may even make friends with children and share the path with them. Along the trail the children can see some traces of Santa himself; there are fresh traces of his sledge and there might even be some objects and presents fallen out of his sledge. Finally the trail leads to a little hut in the middle of the forest where long tables are set up for enjoying Christmas Eve s lunch. At the hut every child is invited to visit the tiny hut decorated in Christmas style. There each child receives a personal letter from Santa. In the letter Santa encourages them to feed the birds and other animals of the forests and should they do this, he promises to pay a visit in the evening. The Santa s little helpers help the children to set up the food for the birds and after this they will go together to fetch some Christmas trees to decorate them for the joy of animals and Santa s helpers. Also Santa s reindeers have arrived to the hut, ready to take everyone on a test drive. If you manage this Lappish mode of transportation, you will be issued an international reindeer driver s license. And since you are at the Arctic Circle, you can not leave without participating in special Lapp ceremony of crossing the Arctic Circle! Then it s time to take the trail back to the coaches which take you back to the hotel. DURATION: 4 hours PRICE: EUR 129 /person WILDERNESS KOTA DINNER (18:30-21:00) Monday, Friday Experience traditional Kota dinner by the open fire! The evening starts with a short coach transfer to a cosy wilderness kota. Relax by the open fire and taste some traditional cold and warm smoked salmon as appetiser. Children have the opportunity to fry sausages by the fire. Chef has prepared a traditional Finnish main course, Karelian hotpot (mixed meat casserole with mixed root vegetable), together with mashed potatoes. As dessert, pancakes prepared by the open fire. You may even prepare your own pancake! Transfer back to city. NOTE! Limited capacity, booking in advance highly recommended! 3 DINNER IN SNOWLAND IGLOO-RESTAURANT Only Friday (19:00-20:30) In SNOWLAND you dine in real arctic surroundings in an igloo restaurant seating over 200 persons! Outdoors the open fires and candles create a mystical contrast to the snow and ice. Indoors the seats and tables are made of ice, the interior lit up with storm lanterns and candles; the ceiling features a starlit sky. Ice sculptures glimmer in the atmospheric light while enjoying the 3 course dinner menu. Transfer by private coach. DURATION: 1,5 hours PRICE: EUR 114 /person MYSTICAL NEW YEAR S PARTY 2014 Only Wed 31 st (22:30-00:30) 22h00 Transfer from the hotels to Special New Year Venue (20 min. from town). At Lapland s magical border of the Arctic Circle, the festivities will be held for welcoming in the New Year Fire, ice, darkness, snow, lights, music, dance are the combined elements that create a magical event for the whole family. The mysterious shamans fuel the atmosphere as the New Year approaches Santa Claus himself will also pay us a visit! A giant snow disco, snow bars, massive fireworks display and the spectacular New Year Dance Show definitely conjure up a memorable entirety. New Year s tin casting is an old Finnish tradition to see what the future holds Shamans - the fortune tellers help you to interpret the marks for the future in your tin. Children over 140 cm in height are allowed to sit on the snowmobile when paying the adult price. Please note that different terms and prices apply to husky safaris. SAFARI PRICES INCLUDE: All snowmobile safaris include thermal outfit, guide services in English, each snowmobile shared by two guests taking turns in driving, fuel, traffic insurance (maximum personal liability 980), maintenance and VAT. The driver of a snowmobile has to be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver s licence. Note: Self liability can be reduced to 150 by paying waiver supplement 15 per driver per safari. As a responsible safari organiser, Lapland Safaris AC Ltd reserves the right to change the routing, pricing and the duration of the excursions without prior notice. Lapland Safaris AC Ltd reserves the right to interrupt a safari if a participant is seen as a potential danger to him/herself or to others or is in poor health. Pre-paid safaris will not be refunded. The driver of the snowmobile is held liable for damages caused to the vehicle. Maximum personal liability 980 per person/snowmobile/accident case. Pregnant women should not use snowmobiles or sledges pulled by snowmobiles as the vibrations and exhaust fumes may be harmful. If the programme requires special arrangements (e.g. additional transport), the extra costs will not be covered by Lapland Safaris AC Ltd
