Your three days are spent in the Arctic Wilderness experiencing the most common forms or transport now - Huskies and Snowmobiles. This break is geared towards the large numbers of clients who advise us that driving a husky team is the most thrilling experience on a northern lights holiday. You get two chances of driving a sled dog team through a pristine river valley in a remote corner of Swedish Lapland. The Moose Valley Gourmet Cabin accommodation, hot tub and meals makes this a great break for anyone celebrating a special occasion. Snowmobile Adventure on pristine trails with commanding views towards Sweden's tallest Mountains. Day by Day Itinerary DAY 1: Fly to Lapland. Overnight in an Art Suite at the ICEHOTEL Fly to Kiruna in Swedish Lapland where on arrival you will be met by one of the guides and transferred to the ICEHOTEL for check into your Art Suite, one of the individually designed rooms created by an international Ice Artist. You will be kitted out in Arctic Clothing and also given an introductory tour of the hotel with a briefing on making the most of your stay. Evening at Leisure we will make a restaurant reservation for you in one of the Ice Hotel s 2 restaurants. page 1/6

2 DAY 2 Day Snowmobile Adventure. Overnight in warm accommodation at the ICEHOTEL Enjoy the excellent IceHotel breakfast prior to pick up for your snowmobile adventure in the arctic wilderness. After your briefing set off following your own private trail into the wilderness. The scenery ranges from forest to frozen lakes, where the chances of seeing reindeer and moose in their natural habitat are high. From your vantage point near Mount Eatnamvárri gaze out over fantastic scenery miles and miles of untouched wilderness. Back at the lodge enjoy a traditional Sami lunch before drop back at the ICEHOTEL. This evening switch to the traditional warm accommodation for the night and again we will make a restaurant reservation for you. Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch Day 3 Husky Wilderness Safari. Wilderness Cabin with Gourmet Dinner After breakfast your guide will pick you up for the first of your two days trips that include the highlight, for many of our clients, driving your own sled dog team. Ylva Sievertsson is one of a select group of accomplished lady husky guides, whose kennels are deep into the valley from where she runs very personal sled dog experiences. She has a very unique relationship with her dogs and we always feel it is a privilege to spend time with her. Once you arrive at the kennels get acquainted with the dogs and receive detailed instructions about how to drive a team. Harness the dogs and feel their excitement as you attach the sled. Head out into the frozen river valley where you will have opportunities to take turns in driving the team whilst making stops to take photos. The location is outside the major tourist areas and we can almost promise that you will enjoy pristine arctic nature alone. You will be out for around 2 hours before heading back to base for a warming lunch in the traditional Kota adjacent to the family home. On arrival at the Moose Valley cabins Johan and Marlin, the owners, will meet and settle you into your cabin. Dinner will be served in the cosy dining room adjacent to the cabin. Johan is a trained chef and his pride and joy is the Chef s table. This has to be the smallest restaurant in Sweden with just 2 tables with views over the valley and a fitted kitchen where Johan will cook and serve your Gourmet evening meals! Sit outside afterwards around the camp fire and soak up the silence of the Arctic night or jump in the outdoor hot tub and relax with the prospect of a northern lights display flashing above you. 3 DAY 4: Spectacular 'Drive your own' Husky Safari. Aurora Hot Tub and Dinner Breakfast in your cabin before pick up for your second day of Huskies with Ylva at her husky kennels 20 minutes away from the cabin. Ylva does get her guests heavily involved in the preparation of the husky teams and also the wind down after your 2 hours out on the tracks in this beautiful and remote corner of Swedish Lapland. If you have been to Lapland before and done a Husky Safari you will know a kennel can be quite a noisy place! Ylva s dogs are different beautifully trained and obviously respectful of their owner they portray an air of quite competence and efficiency. Today each guest will drive their own team on a longer tour of 30kms along the frozen Kalix river towards Kebnekaise, Sweden s tallest mountain. Head up into the hills to the forest line for great views towards the mountains. Stop in a wilderness hut for for coffee and sandwich lunch before following the Kalix river upstream and back to basecamp. A really spectacular day s adventure! This evening relax at the Moose Valley Cabins in the hot tub and enjoy another of Johan s meals served at the Chef s Table. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner DAY 5 Fly Home Breakfast at hotel prior to direct transfer to the airport, for your flight home, after your northern lights holiday to the ICEHOTEL and Boutique Moose Valley wilderness cabins. 4 Stockholm is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and always rates in the top 10 most desirable cities in the world to live in. It is also the perfect contrast to a break in the arctic. The old town in Stockholm is very picturesque and compact and can be done in a full day. Your time will be spent exploring some fascinating landmarks. The VASA museum is world class, the Nobel museum of local interest and for ABBA fans; new in 2013 is the ABBA interactive museum. Also in December Stockholm has many Christmas markets so a break can allow you to do some shopping and get into the Christmas spirit. You will stay in the Rival Hotel owned by Benny Anderson of Abba fame. The hotel is an excellent 4* hotel in a quiet square but within walking distance of the old town. Cost Per Person ( Weekend vs Week Day ) Includes 2 nights in standard double room bed and breakfast, private airport transfers to and from Arlanda airport Where You'll Stay The Original ICEHOTEL - Swedish Lapland From 2015 The ICEHOTEL consists of 2 structures - the temporary hotel is rebuilt each year from blocks of ice harvested from the Torne river which runs adjacent to the IceHotel. These are stored for the summer in a huge warehouse and as the late Autumn temperature in Jukkasjärvi drops below zero ice artists arrive from the world over to build this magnificent creation. They build the 4 levels of rooms, the ice chapel and the ice bar. Their art is created with imagination and hard work, only to melt away under the unforgiving rays of the spring sun. The new ICEHOTEL 365 is a permanent ICEHOTEL and a feat of engineering which offers visitors the chance of staying the whole year round. It is an all suite hotel and also house the celebrated ICEBAR. On request we can ask for the luxury suites which have adjacent bathrooms. These carry a supplement. You will leave your luggage in an adjacent service block where there are saunas and showers, whilst all you will take into the hotel is you and your thermal arctic sleeping bag! 5 Moose Valley Gourmet Cabins The Moose Valley Wilderness Cabins are new builds and combine wilderness with creature comforts not normally associated with a wilderness experience. Situated in a picturesque valley they are perfectly placed for guests to combine both a northern lights and arctic adventure. For those of you that appreciate good food, meals prepared and served in the smallest restaurant in Sweden are a delight. There are two cosy double bedded cabins with large glass windows facing north towards the northern lights horizon. Modern styling includes satellite TV! There is an adjacent toilet and shower block and an outdoor hot tub which guests are invited to use. After dinner sit around the outdoor fire, gaze at the stars and hopefully the aurora, enjoy a hot drink or a whisky and appreciate how special it is to own a piece of Lapland for moment in time! Being away from it all in your own private space with the auroras roaring overhead is simply breath-taking and the perfect special occasion retreat!
