QLD 4870 Club meetings are held at Yorkeys Knob Community Hall, Wattle Street, on the last Sunday of every month, commencing at 10.00am. Membership Fees: $45.00 (due each September) President Bruce Nancarrow Objects of the Club To promote ownership and appreciation of American motor vehicles. To promote and provide owners and admirers with car shows, car rally s and social events. Note: Members are required to attend 3 meetings/events before eligible for Special Vehicle Registration and must repeat yearly to continue to qualify. Hi Members, It looks like the weather is starting to cool down a bit and now we just need the rain to stop. Some of our members have been away over the Easter break and it has been good to see photo s posted of their adventures. The family went and had a look at the T.O.T.S 2016 Swap Meet which was held at Cannon Park. I think they did a good job and like anything the first is always the hardest. The Northern Nationals will be held at the Springmount Raceway on May 5 th 7 th 2017 so hopefully I will finally make it up there for the Sunday program. I think the Mater truck is coming so the kids should enjoy that. Coming up in June will be the 20 th Anniversary of the Kurrimine Beach Hop which will be held on the weekend of the 2 nd to 4 th so I imagine some of our members will make Kurrimine an extra-long weekend stretching from Friday to Monday. The theme for the Saturday night fun and games will be Mardi-gras. Get in now and book your accommodation. If any members would like to organise an event at any time, just let the events co-ordinator know or if something comes up a short notice can be organised and a short notice run can be put up by James. Remember after our April meeting we are having tea, coffee & cakes & biscuits. Soft drinks will be on sale. Remember don t live your life a ¼ mile at a time just cruise and see you at the meeting on 30 th of April. James 2

Kel advised he has trouble opening Newsletters online Bruce advised a couple of members addresses were bouncing back. 2. Gordonvale Pyramid Race Day they are looking to include a Car Show in the park as part of activities (week following Swap Meet in August) at least 6 members indicated an interest in participating, 3. National Heritage Motoring Day (21 May 2017) Bruce to discuss with other car clubs what their intentions are, as this is an opportunity for car enthusiasts to let the general public and politicians know the extent of the hobby. 4 Giggling Gertie s Gut-busting Jokes! I called an old school friend and asked what was he doing. He replied that he is working on "Aqua-thermal treatment of ceramics, aluminum and steel under a constrained environment". I was impressed... On further enquiring I learned that he was washing dishes with hotwater...under his wife's supervision. A crusty old battleship admiral died and found himself standing before Saint Peter at the pearly gates. Peter welcomed him warmly, Come right in, Admiral! You've served your country well and you may enter Heaven! The admiral looked thru the gates and stepped up to Saint Peter, Just one thing, sonny. I hope there's no Chiefs here. They are the rudest, most obnoxious variety of human ever, and if there are any of them here, I'm not going in; I'd rather go to the other place. Don't worry, admiral, said Saint Peter. No Chief has ever made it into Heaven. You'll find none of 'em here. So, the admiral goes on into Heaven. Moments later, he comes upon an amazing sight. It is a swaggering figure in a khakis, garrison cap cocked slightly on his head, a mostly empty bottle of Jack Daniels in one hand, and a beautiful woman on either arm. Incensed, the admiral rushes back to Saint Peter and gets in his face.hey! You said there were no Chiefs here! So what the hell is THAT.!. Don't worry, admiral, says Saint Peter gently. That's God. He just THINKS he's a Chief. ^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^ A lady about 8 months pregnant got on a bus. She noticed the man opposite her was smiling at her. She immediately moved to another seat. This time the smile turned into a grin, so she moved again. The man seemed more amused. When on the fourth move, the man burst out laughing, she complained to the driver and he had the man arrested. The case came up in court. The judge asked the man (about 20 years old) what he had to say for himself: The man replied, 'Well your Honor, it was like this: When the lady got on the bus, I couldn't help but notice her condition. She sat down under a sign that said, 'The Double Mint Twins are coming' and I grinned. Then she moved and sat under a sign that said, ' Logan 's Liniment will reduce the swelling,' and I had to smile. Then she placed herself under a deodorant sign that said, 'William's Big Stick Did the Trick,' and I could hardly contain myself. But, Your Honor, when she moved the fourth time and sat under a sign that said, 'Goodyear Rubber could have prevented this Accident!'. I just lost it.' 'CASE DISMISSED!! 4
