2 Volume 10 Issue 4 A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I just wanted to thank each of you that volunteered at the Bowling Green Bash (FMCA International Convention) as the Ohio Nomads manned the Information Center. We had eighty members that worked the 120 shifts that the schedule was broken up into. We sold tickets to various classes, passed out pins, handled the mail, maintained the emergency locator cards/information desk at Olscamp Hall, and handled the baggage check at the vendor hall. Many worked two shifts, some only worked one shift each, and a couple of us worked three shifts. So there was time for us to have fun the rest of the time, looking over the new coaches, the many vendors, and attend seminars. EVERYONE that was there showed up on time, as scheduled for their shift. This made the job as Information Captain much easier. On Saturday evening, the Nesbitt s hosted an impromptu Happy Hour outside their coach. There were thirty-some people at this gathering with munchies and whatever you wanted to drink. Then on Tuesday evening, the Gade s hosted another Happy Hour that was announced in advance with the result that sixty-five attended; again with munchies and your choice of drinks. These two events gave us a chance to enjoy the fellowship of our group. A good time was had by all at both events. I d also like to thank Norm Holley for suggesting almost two years ago that we should volunteer for the Information Center job. Many other volunteer jobs were out in the weather or much more difficult than those we were assigned. Thanks again, Norm. For those planning ahead, the next nearby FMCA Convention will be in the Summer of 2012 at the Indianapolis State Fairgrounds. Hope to see all of you this September in Jeffersonville at our next Ohio Nomad rally hosted by the Toohigs. Sign up early because we get a discount if we have enough coaches.
