Thanks to each of you who volunteered to help Ernie Howard, Jim Jerome and Bob Gast keep Glamarama 14 safe and secure, to those driving the all important golf carts, and to those who welcomed people at the registration tables. Michael Canode led several seminars, Mary Alice Gast, Char Bowden and Sunny Aldridge greeted guests at the Chapter Fair booth, and Bonnie Edgar, Todd Wolf and I had the honor of carrying the Ohio Nomads banner in the Chapter Parade. Charlie Atkinson played along with the Frustrated Maestros, Todd Wolf helped set up hundreds of chairs and Marcia Atkinson organized the book fair. Vendors filled two enormous buildings thanks to Bill Nesbitt, Stan Wietholter and Tom Berning. Looking around in each building, it was easy to find something we didn t know we needed! Jane, our Great Lakes Area President, thanked the Weather Lady, Bev Nesbitt, for the sunshine during the rally! The first night of entertainment was fantastic and we thought they d be hard to top, but each night was continually better than the last. Saturday night we were entertained by an incredible group: The Red Head Express, a sensational family of seven multi-talented children and their parents. They received what seemed like a five-minute standing ovation! Are you a Football Fan? Ron & Jackie Gade and Stan & Pat Wietholter are hosting a rally in the Canton area near the Football Hall of Fame in August. Go Browns! We ll be camping at Cutty s Sunset Camping Resort; a picturesque park in Louisville. Even if you don t care a hoot about football, or if you ve been to the hall of fame many times, come anyway; there s a lot more planned, especially with YOU in mind! Remember to get your reservation in for the Samboree in Wapakoneta before July 2 nd. Denny & Bonnie Edgar are certain to make the rally a fun time! Hope to see y all there! Ever had a mouse in your motorhome? We have! How did we know? They seem to drop their calling cards wherever they travel! We ve done the fabric softener sheets in every nook & cranny: didn t help; and moth balls are totally out of the question. We told some friends at a campout that we d just seen a furry stow-away scurrying across the kitchen floor! One woman said that if we set a trap with chocolate, the mouse wouldn t be able to resist. We went to the Dollar Store, bought a mouse trap and set it with a piece of Hershey candy bar. She was right; within one hour we had a mouseless motorhome! It is better to prevent than pursue! A good farmer friend told us he uses peppermint oil saturated cotton balls to keep mice out of his combine and away from their stored seed corn. That had a lovely fragrance and kept mice away, but I needed to refresh the cotton balls on a regular basis. Two years ago we found a product called Fresh Cab at a farm implement store. It s a box full of pleasantly scented small pouches of rodent repellant and works extremely well; and for your convenience, it can now be purchased at Tractor Supply and Camping World. FYI - Just in case! I know you think you understand what you thought I said, But I m not sure that what you heard is actually what I meant! LOL - Carol
