Rick Watts reported for him that membership applications are going out by the end of the month. Any address changes should be forwarded to Phil Gerber. Pier: Brian Ferguson reported that the ice-eaters will be pulled this week (Mike Warner to help). The electricity is not working on the right side of the Marina. He will choose a day for Pier Cleanup at the next Pier Committee meeting. Brian is looking into replacing the shed that holds the water pumps. Brian will be sending out contracts and applications for the slips next week. The revised Pier rules were presented at the All Community Meeting in Feb 2011 and Brian has had no complaints or feedback. Denise Larbig motioned that the board approves the revised pier rules as published on the North Shore website. Lois Warner seconded. A# were in favor, motion carried. Roads and Zoning: Lois Warner reported that she has received a request for a deck from the DeRemers on Park Creek Court. The application was circulated amongst the board. Lois Warner motioned to approve the DeRemer application, Roberta Watts seconded. A# were in favor, motion carried. Beach: Rick Watts reported that there was a shed break-in at the North Shore Beach in February. Mike and Lois Warner were able to fix the door and check the shed and its contents. The picnic tables are being moved and there was discussion of chaining them to the pavilion. There continues to be vandalism at the Beach. It is up to our watchful neighbors to call the cops at (410) if they see unsanctioned events/individuals at the beach after hours. This goes for the Marina as well. Rick also noted that Mario Anello volunteered to spread the stone at the low spot of the parking area for the beach. Park: Rae Regula reported that she and Jennifer King have discussed the need for new backboards and nets at the basketball court, and she has found some suitable outdoor ones online. Bonnie Howatt said that there was already $300 in the budget for capital improvements at the park. However, the cost of the basketball gear may be a bit more. Bonnie Howatt motioned that the board approves $400 for basketba# equipment, Jennifer King seconded. A# approved, motion carried. Rae also said she was getting a work committee together to dismantle the monkey bars. Anyone interested in helping, contact Rae Regula. PAGE 3

4 Jennifer King also reiterated the need for lacrosse backboard. She suggested that we start with a temporary wall that could be removed when not in season. It would be put up near the courts. Roberta Watts questioned the aesthetics of a temporary wall at the park and Rick Watts reminded folks of the complaints of noise from the old backboard at the tennis courts. Jennifer King motioned that the board approves the insta#ation of a temporary backboard at the park. Rae Regula seconded. A# in favor, motion carried. Entertainment: Jennifer King reported that the Progressive Dinner was great fun, 9 couples attended. She will try to do this again this summer, with it wrapping up at the Community Beach. The next event is the Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday April 23 rd at 10AM. Deliver filled eggs the night before at the home of Jennifer King on Valley Rd. Welcome: Cris Imle will now fill this position. Garden Club: Sarah Ann Parsons reported that we need to sell tickets for the North Shore Dinner Dance on March 25 th. Make checks payable to North Shore Association, subject: dinner dance ($40 single, $75 couple). Flyers will be distributed this week. The next Garden Club meeting is March 15 th at the home of Rae Regula on Park Creek Ct. (7PM). Roberta Watts reported that the Garden Club has been pursuing the potential for reforesting the Magothy Greenway that flanks North Shore Road. She along with several Master Gardeners and neighbors conducted a hike through the woods to identify trees and the source of diseases. Those interested in learning more can Roberta Watts at bertawatts@verzion.net. All are invited to hear a Master Gardener at the April 19 North Shore Garden Club meeting. We will discuss the woods and our options from tree choices to funding. Also, National Arbor Day is the last Friday in April, the 29 th. Please visit the lobby of the Tawes State office building at the corner of Rowe and Taylor Ave. in Annapolis for a free tree. Greater Pasadena Council: Robin Gearhart-Sayler reported that the GPC meeting was held on Feb. 24 th, with guest speaker Nancy Schrum. They are compiling a list of all the neighborhoods in the area and will approach non-member neighbors in an effort to have them join. The GPC board has agreed that this year those neighborhoods in good standing with the GPC (current on dues) will not be charged for this year (2011). The next meeting is on March 24 th at the Pasadena Police Department, 7:30PM. OLD BUSINESS: Lois Warner reported on the shed on Dutchship Court as follows: Last month Lois had sent a letter to the owner notifying them of the shed s non-compliance with North Shore covenants. She has received no response and will now send a registered letter giving the shed owner 10 business days to submit the appropriate paperwork. If no application is submitted within the allotted time, the NS Board will take appropriate action. Denise Larbig reminds the community that the North Shore Board welcomes input on any concerns our paid members may have. The Board meetings are open to ALL paid members. Rae Regula reminds all neighbors that April 5 th is the next hazardous material day at the Millersville AA County dump. There is also one on April 16 th at the Dover AA County dump. PAGE 4

5 Bonnie Howatt remarked that the contract for lawn mowing shows a mid-march start. Rick Watts recommended that we let the neighborhood youth mow the grass by the Mountain Road sign for $20 instead of giving that money to the lawn service. He volunteered Dean Watts as a mower.
