The Homoeopaic Medical Association of India (Goa State Branch) is proud to be e organizer of e 20 All India Homoeopaic Scientific Seminar to be held on 9 & 10 September We are planning is mega event on a grand scale and we hope to leave a lasting impression on e mind of every delegate attending is mega event. HMAI, e largest National Organization of Homeopas, was formed in 1975 and is now 42 years old. Since its inception, HMAI is working for e progress of homeopaic science and research, public heal initiatives and gaining appreciation and support from e entire fraternity. To achieve e objective of scaling new heights for our system, HMAI is providing a common platform for homeopaic clinicians, researchers, pharmaceuticals and students for discussion on various issues in connection wi homeopaic practice, research and education.

3 ABOUT GOA: Goa is a state on e Konkan coast in western India. It is bound by Maharashtra to e nor and Karnataka to e east and sou, wi e Arabian Sea forming its western coast. It is India's smallest state by area and e four smallest by population. It was ranked e best placed state for its infrastructure and ranked on top for e best quality of life in India. Panaji is e state's capital and e historic city of Margao is its commercial capital... Goa was a former Portuguese province and Portuguese rule existed for about 450 years till 1961 Goa is visited by large numbers of international and domestic tourists each year for its beaches, places of worship and world heritage architecture. It has rich flora and fauna, owing to its location on e Western Ghats range, a biodiversity hotspot. Famous Beaches in Goa Goa is famous all over e world for its world class beaches. Its coastline of 101kms is lined by white sand beaches and natural formations which will mesmerize you. Here is a list of some famous beaches for you to visit Baga Beach is e most famous beach of Goa, known for its stunning nightlife, beach parties, and mou-watering seafood delicacies. Palolem Beach A scenic beach in sou Goa, wi scenic rocks and islands off its shores. Good eating options. Watersports activity can be enjoyed at its best on is beach.

4 Benaulim Beach Is e beach to be, when you just want to relax. One can just laze e day off soaking in e sun, It gives you e pleasure and satisfaction of being in Goa. It is a famous beach for fishing. A candle light dinner amidst e setting is an excellent add-on to e perfect vacation. Colva Beach Colva is a beach located in sou goa just 8 km away from e seminar venue. And it is e closest beach to Margao. The beach is a white sand beach stretching across 20km towards sou of Goa. It has lots of beachside restaurants and a market to buy souvenirs. Calangute Beach Calangute is one of e most popular tourist destinations in Goa. It is often referred as 'Queen of e Beaches' and largest among nor goa beaches. It has lots of people all around e year and is known for its watersports and easy connectivity.

5 TOURIST DESTINATIONS Basilica de Bom Jesus This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a church, which is situated in Old Goa, and is an excellent example of Baroque architecture. Basilica of Bom Jesus was constructed in e year 1605 and is one of e most important destinations for Christian pilgrims from all over e world. One of e most important attractions here are e mortal remains of e missionary Saint Francis Xavier. Fort Aguada A well-preserved 17 century Portuguese fort, Fort Aguada is located on e Sinquerim Beach in Nor Goa. Built as e chief defence of Portuguese against e Dutch and Maraas, it was e most prized and crucial fort of e Portuguese. Some buildings of e fort are still in good shape having been converted into a jail and interestingly, it happens to be e largest jail in Goa. Dudhsagar Falls: Literally meaning a sea of milk, Dudhsagar Falls is a 4 tiered waterfall located and e 4 tallest waterfall of India. Located at a distance of 46km from Madgaon, e falls appear spectacular during monsoons after been fed by e rains. There is a railway bridge which passes right in front of e waterfall and passenger train passing rough e fall tend to always slow down for passengers to view e fall up close. It was highlighted in e movie Chennai Express. Chapora Fort: Discover Bollywood's favourite fort Popular as e place where e Bollywood flick Dil Chahta Hai was picturised, e Chapora fort stands at e mou of e Chapora river as an old guard. Today is laterite fort is almost in ruins but does offer some sensational views of e coastline from e top of e fort. That itself is reason enough for any photo enusiasts. Naval Aviation Museum Unknown to many, e Naval Aviation Museum is e only one of its kind in e whole of Asia. It has an outdoor and an indoor section and exhibits range from 7 different type of aircrafts, rockets, bombs, armaments, protective gears, parachutes, pilot's outfits etc. Definitely a must visit on your next Goa tour, especially for ose keen on life about e defence forces.

6 The Church Of Our Lady Of Immaculate Conception Mangeshi Temple Goa may have a long Portuguese history and quite a few famous churches, yet it is also home to beautiful temples as well. Ponda region in Goa is famous for e 450-yearold Shri Mangesh temple dedicated to Shiva. The highlights of e temple are e seven-story lamp tower (deepstambha), a magnificent water tank, believed to be e oldest part of e temple and ere is a prominent Nandi Bull as well inside e temple. Located on a small hillock, it is also one of e largest temples in Goa. One of e most famous landmarks of Goa, Our Lady of e Immaculate Conception Church in Panjim was built by e Portuguese in 1541 as a chapel. A fine example of Baroque architecture combined wi Indian sensibilities. The location of e church in Panaji, makes it even more beautiful and stunning as it is surrounded by e municipal gardens. It was built for e sailors who disembarked here, after a long sail from Lisbon, Portugal as it was e first port before goint inland into older Goa. Fontainhas Fontainhas, e old Latin Quarter of Goa seems to belong to anoer part of e world, maybe Europe but certainly not India. The narrow winding street flanked by brightly coloured houses wi projecting balconies and red tiled roofs makes for a very picturesque sight. Even e beautiful number plates of e houses are like works of art. It gives a very Mediterranean look and feel to e entire place. Located at e fooills, wi e Altinho hills on e west and e Ourem creek on e East, it derived its name from 'Fonte Phoenix' (Fountain of Phoeni)', which was essentially a water reservoir constructed during e Portuguese rule. The Fountain of Phoenix can still be seen on e way to e Maruti Temple in e Mala area. One of e most famous and striking monuments in Goa, Dona Paula is a monument at has been erected to honour e great baroness Paula Amaral Antonio de Souto Maior, who was e daughter of e Portuguese Viceroy. As she arrived wi her family to Goa, she made various changes and charities at brought about reforms in e town. The memorial was erected in her memory. The statue has various legends attached to it, while some say it represents young and old Moer India, e oers say at it was a statue sculpted by Dona Paula herself. The area is now amongst e most affluent in Goa and is truly charming and pleasant. The monument overlooks e sea, which makes up for its perfect location Dona Paula

7 How to Reach Goa Goa is easily accessible from all metros and major cities by flight, train and by road as well. By Air: The international airport is at Dabolim, at a distance of 24 kms from e seminar venue. It is connected to major airports like Mumbai, Delhi & Kolkatta By Road: Goa has e following National Highways passing rough it. NH-66 (ex NH-17) runs along India's west coast and links Goa to Mumbai in e nor and Mangalore to e sou. NH-4A running across e state connects e capital Panaji to Belgaum in east, linking Goa to cities in e Deccan. Anoer form of transportation in Goa is e locally called "pilots". These vehicles transport a single motorcycle taxi, operated by drivers who are pillion rider, at fares at are usually negotiated. Oer an buses, "pilots" tend to be e cheapest mode of transport. You can also hire a two wheeler in Goa. This becomes very convenient to get around and is easy on e pocket.
