Participants MUST bring their own PPEs, including hard hat, reflective vest, work boots and long pants. The Port of Miami Tunnel Project (POMT), in Miami, Florida, is one of North America s most technically challenging pressurized TBM tunneling projects. This major infrastructure project, which is being built at an estimated cost of $900 million dollars, includes a.75 mile (1.1 km) long twin-tube highway tunnel that will connect the MacArthur Causeway on Watson Island to the Port of Miami on Dodge Island. It is a design-build-finance-operate-and-maintain ( DBFOM ) Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami, and MAT Concessionaire, which is made up of Meridiam Infrastructure and Bouygues Travaux Publics. Bouygues Civil Works Florida was selected as the Design-Build Contractor. The tunnel, which is being excavated using a 42ft. (12.5m) diameter Herrenknecht Mixshield TBM will create a new connection under the main shipping canal to the city's cruise and container port on Dodge Island. The project is scheduled for completion in POMT Tour Guests on Sunday, April 22nd, can expect a walking tour of the active construction site of the tunnel project, led by Design-Build Contractor Bouygues Civil Works Florida s very own Project Executive Mr. Louis Brais. Ahead of his Monday, April 23rd, keynote address to conference attendees, Mr. Brais will give tour guests an overview of the project and share the many exciting innovations and geotechnical challenges of the project. Guests can expect to be walking for approximately 90 minutes. With the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) approximately 1200ft. into its voyage, guests will have the unique opportunity of entering the tunnel and walking onto the TBM while it is in operation to witness the history-making machine at work! 6 Fee: $55
