4 TRAVEL FROM AIRPORT TO CITY CENTRE BUS There is a bus network from the airport that offers services to passengers who are travelling to various destinations from the airport. If travelling to coastal resorts of Estoril or Cascais the Scotturb airport shuttle is the best option for you. A ticket to the city centre should cost c AEROBUS: Linking the Airport to downtown Lisbon and Cais do Sodre (every 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.) - CARRIS BUSES: No. 5, 8, 22, 44, 45, 83; TAXIS Taxis are available outside the Terminal Building. The general charge is c to the centre of Lisbon. Travel to Congress Venue by Tram and Bus The Congress venue is accessible by Bus and Tram from the city centre. HOST CITY AND VENUE Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the oldest in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by centuries. A cosmopolitan capital, with a Mediterranean climate Lisbon offers vast cultural experiences to visitors and it is a city is also proud to maintain its traditions. Lisbon City has a rich history dating back to the Roman Empire. Julius Caesar himself made it a Municipium. It has several historical sites with the Belem Tower and the Jeronimos Monastery being declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The venue for the congress is located close to the point in Belem at The Discoveries Monument where Vasco da Gama embarked on his voyage from Portugal to India in 1497, and it was here too that Christopher Columbus anchored on his way back to Spain following his historic discovery of the Americas. 6 ABSTRACT SUBMISSION The congress invites ABSTRACT Submissions for the congress; ABSTRACT PREPARATION Authors may select oral or poster communications. The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission Submissions which have been successfully entered into the system will receive immediate confirmation If immediate confirmation and an Abstract Number is not received by return to the address provided then the abstract has not been successfully submitted Please refer to the Abstract Number only in correspondence regarding the abstract. Correspondence without an abstract number will not be entered into by the Organisers. ABSTRACT INSTRUCTIONS Abstracts should be submitted in English. Abstracts must contain a brief, clear statement of conclusion. Avoid statements such as the findings will be discussed. All abbreviations must be defined before being used as an abbreviation in the text. In the preparation of the abstract please adopt the following structured format: - Background - Aims - Methods - Results - Summary/Conclusions - The title should contain not more than 100 characters. Abstracts should be no longer than 1800 characters (approximately 250 words). Deadline for the submission of abstracts: 15TH February 2017 Abstracts are reviewed by the Programme Committees online. The Committees are not granted access to author details i.e. abstracts are reviewed blind. AWARDS AT IFFAS The best papers presented at the meeting will be recognized with the organization s prestigious awards: IFFAS Takakura Prize for the best clinical paper IFFAS President s Prize for the best research paper. 7 SOCIAL EVENTS Thursday 28 th September 18:30 - Welcome Reception Pátio de Galé, Lisbon Meet colleagues and friends at a Welcoem Reception hosted under the beautifaul and histric Pombaline arcades of Patio de Gale on the western side of Lisbons celebrated 18th Cetury Comercio Square. Drinks and Canapés will be served. 1 Ticket is included in a Full Registration Fee and Extra Tickets available to book on the Registration form and are 30 per person to include Drinks and Canapes. Patio de Gale is centrally located in Lisbon and accessible for public transport and is surrounded by many restaurants. Friday 29 th September 20:00 Congress Dinner Palacio Xabregas Join together for a special evening at the Palace of Xabregas located to the east of Lisbon. Built by the famous Portuguese sailor and aristocrat Tristão da Cunha at the end of the 16th Century, the Palace of Xabregas was the official residence of the Portuguese Royal family, and was one of a few buildings that survived the earthquake of 1755, which destroyed the rest of the city. The walls of the Palace are adorned with paintings and artwork and the Palace has one of the largest private collections of tiles in Portugal. 8 HOTEL ACCOMMODATION The official Congress Hotel is the Marriott Lisbon Hotel. The hotel is a 4 star property with standard and deluxe room options starting at EUR 150 per night including breakfast (single occupancy) EUR 160 Double Occupancy including breakfast. INDUSTRY LUNCH WORKSHOPS Delegates are invited to participate in workshops arranged by industry during the congress lunch break. Please note that while has facilitated the scheduling of these workshops the society has no responsibility for the content of same and attendance is at the discretion of each participant. Buffet lunch will be served in the Exhibition Area during the congress. The workshops will be scheduled for 40 minutes and according to the Final Programme timing.
