4 FIJI S WEATHER PATTERN Because of our location, Fiji has tropical South Seas climate with two main season i.e. Hot & Wet and Cool & Dry Hot & Wet Season : November to April : Hurricane Season : High rainfall and flash flood Cool & Dry Season : May to October : Dry season where drought can be experienced especially in the North thw Western Parts of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. NOTE : FIJI IS ALSO EXPERINCING THE CHANGE IN WEATHER PATTERN AS A RESULT OF THE GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE PHENOMENA.

5 WHY DRM FOR FIJI Our Strategic location Fiji is in the hub of the South West Pacific transit point to regional countries, air and sea routes between mainland America to Australia and New Zealand Located in the Cyclone belt region of SW Pacific Located in the Pacific Ring of Fire The geography presents that Fiji is prone to cyclones, flooding, landslide, high waves, drought, fire, earthquake, tsunamiand and storm surge.
