4 Overview Tari earthquake was a major earthquake event to have occurred in the PNG since the M7.6 earthquake of September The earthquake occurred in the area where such event had not be experienced for a long period of time. From historical records, earthquake of similar magnitude (M7.5) had previously occurred within the area in The earthquake however had brought many surprises and anxiety
