2 Focus on The Amadeus Express Travel Solutions The Amadeus Express - a Road Show for 5,000 travel professionals across the country, enlightening them on Amadeus products and services and unveiling futuristic products for the Travel Industry, began its wave from Delhi on the 30th and 31st July and spread its wings to the cities of Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad in the South and Kolkata in the East and has continued its odyssey westwards to Mumbai, Ahmedabad & Vadodara. Next stops will be Pune, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Jalandhar and finally culminating in Lucknow. The highlights of the Road Show were the front office products of e-ticketing; state-of-the art Front Office system, Amadeus Vista; Satellite Ticket Printing as well as Back Office and e- commerce initiatives and B2B portal Res4.com. Delhi saw a whopping audience of a 1000 travel professionals spread over two days attentively listening to the presenters. An enthralled audience of 800 in the South and 300 in the East and another 1000 in the West were equally interactive and lots Co-sponsors of lucky ones managed to carry home prizes won in the one to one quiz sessions. Amadeus and its main co-sponsors sponsored the prizes. Our co-sponsors who took the initiative in this Road Show were Air Sahara, Malaysia Airlines, TATA AIG and Marriott. The sub-sponsors included Indian Airlines and Myanmar Airways International; sponsors were Air Tel, Bajaj Allianz, Baljee Hotels, Bird Education Society of Travel and Tourism, Royal Nepal Airlines and Taj Hotels & Resorts; our partners were Air India, Alitalia, Iran Air, Jet Airways, Kenya Airways, Qantas, Qatar Airways and Swiss International Airlines. You simply need to queue the word ETKT to DEL1A0980 (Q95C0) as given below: QE/DEL1A0980/95C0 ETKT//(enter/transmit) The ticket number range would be extracted and the response would be placed on your agency queue (Q95C0). All agents must contact the IATA office to ask for e-ticket stock. Once the IATA office gives the message to Amadeus, the e-ticket stock will be loaded in the agency s office ID.! Refer the TGETD-IN page to check which all airlines participate on Amadeus electronic ticketing product.! The carriers which are not allowed for e-ticketing in your office are listed in the AET field (PROHIBIT ETKT CARRIER). Contact the airline concerned to open access for your agency.! For all e-tickets issued, keep the copy of the agent and audit coupon safely.! The itinerary receipt can be ed by inserting this entry in the PNR:ITR-EML- address! The agent and audit coupon can be printed upto 07 days of ticket issue by the entry TTR (also see HETTR help page for more options).! The entry TTP/TKT/ET entry should be done prior to issuing an e-ticket to see if any system mandatory elements are missing or erroneous (this will not prompt you for FOIDs - so always check the HEETTXX page to be sure whether or not an airline requires form of identification entry - SRFOID).! Please be advised that on receiving a reject on doing the TTP entry, the system consumes the e-ticket number in the background. Check the TJQ entry to see if you have received any CANN status. Call the Amadeus helpdesk (on the nation wide toll free number ) before repeating this entry. Do not repeat the TTP entry without checking and rectifying the reason of the reject.! It is advisable to restrict the e-ticket issue to a maximum of 2 to 3 tickets in one go. The airline can restrict the maximum no. of segments and passengers allowed in e-ticketing. The HEETTXX page for the IN market displays such restrictions.! We wish to emphasise that some airline require form of Identification (FOID) as the mandatory field for issuing an e-ticket. Hence, it is imperative to add the FOID in a PNR while issuing an e-ticket and the entry for the same is: SR FOID XX HK/-FF , where, SR, is the transaction code. FOID, is the SSR code. XX, is the 2-letter code, depending upon the airline. FF, is the form of identification, as Frequent Flyer Card No.! Please ensure all your staff is fully trained on e-ticketing. For any training required on e-ticketing please contact our products & training team at training@amadeus.co.in For details on the above, please refer to HE SR,GPSR2. The HEETTXX (XX is the airline code) should be checked to see whether or not the FOID is required by the validating airline. Please look up the GGAMAINETT page and watch out for our regular broadcast messages. If the airline requires the FOID, and if it is missing from the PNR, then the e-ticket would get reported. 3 Amadeus Switch Amadeus, the most user friendly CRS, comes out with an equally user friendly tool called the AMADEUS SWITCH! Amadeus Switch converts the commands of one CRS into another and these can be transmitted to the Amadeus Central System as well. It acts as a catalyst for those users who have worked on one CRS and now wish to be experts on Amadeus. To assist further, the inbuilt E-QRG inculcates all Amadeus entries for an easy reference. So Switch to Amadeus and experience the ease of smooth working!!! E-QRG can also be deployed as a standalone tool to assist you with all Amadeus entries. NEW PRODUCT FOR PRINTING NON-BSP DOCUMENTS FOR S2 DOMESTIC SECTORS The new Amadeus ticket printing solution is a windows based application, with a graphical user interface. It automates the printing of manual documents (non-bsp stationary). This product extracts the data from the Amadeus system and displays it in the editing window. Travel agents can edit the ticket, save it in a local database, and preview it before printing. Features include an interactive stock bank, reporting features and totally compatible with LAN environment. AMADEUS INRODUCES - AUTOMATIC ENROLLMENT PRODUCT FOR AIR SAHARA - COSMOS FREQUENT FLYER PROGRAM 1. This product would help the travel agents enroll their clients for the Air Sahara-Cosmos Frequent Flier programme and enable them to get all privileges associated with it. 2. A temporary card number is processed for the passenger. 3. The travel agency is informed of this number through a queue message which is automatically generated from the provider s server into the Amadeus system. 4. The travel agent simply needs to fill in all details pertaining to their client in the relevant boxes as shown below. 5. Agent gets this form to fill up after he clicks on the SAHARA COSMOS APPLICATION. Amadeus provides NON-BSP Ticket Printing Solution in the Sri Lanka Market Similar to the new Amadeus ticket writer product in India, this product can automate the ticket printing of airlines such UL and GF. Features include smooth printing of continuous stationary, automatic reporting and efficient ticket printing in a LAN environment. Jet Airways, Amadeus tie-up for automated ticketing... Now in Sri Lanka also... The travel agencies in Sri Lanka, can issue 9W tickets based on the same central ticketing solution as existing in India. THE PRODUCT WORKING The fare for the itinerary is chosen and stored by the user The user can preview the ticket before printing The user gives the command to print the ticket Ticket is physically printed and internally reported on the Amadeus system. 4

4 Product Talk Products, products and products as a leading GDS it is ever so simple for us to churn out these user friendly products at a drop of a hat, which in turn will make your day to day working ever so simple but we felt that this newsletter should now have a friendly dialogue aspect to it. From this issue we have opened the Product News to industry experts to themselves talk about their experiences, anecdotes and the ominous product line which Amadeus has to offer. We hope you will enjoy the Product News now even more with our new section called Product Talk Mr. E.M. Najeeb, CMD ATE Travels, took time out for an exclusive one on one interview with Karun Budhraja, Dy. GM, Marketing Communications, Amadeus India and shared his views on some burning topics. Following are the excerpts of the interview. Q: How important is travel technology to you? Do you think the time has come when the travel agent has adapted himself to the technology that surrounds him, or is he still overwhelmed by its existence? A: Technology is a key enabling component in our business and is built to support the delivery of services over a flexible multi-channel distribution environment that uses common standards and defined procedures. It helps support a sustainable strategy that enables us to do travel business (online and traditional) and to have a presence at whichever contact point the customer decides to use; thus developing a close relationship with our clients, at all points of the transaction, and at the same time reducing distribution costs. We have standardized our national technological architecture in terms of desktop programs and server platform and have a communication infrastructure that is custom designed to support fail-safe redundancy. We currently have custom designed inter-operable products that provide ERP/CRM functionalities, a national wide-area network, a virtual private network accessible from 7 of our main offices, Voice over IP to our major offices in the metros and CRS and Net access at all our 27 locations countrywide where the organization operates. Q: Is a trained staff is an asset to the organization? How much of time is invested in training of your personnel? Do you use the Amadeus training facilities - both online and offline? 5 Mr. E.M. Najeeb Chairman & Managing Director ATE Travels A: ATE believes that human resources are the most valuable resources of the Company and in order to sustain the changing business environment, the Company has undertaken various HR initiatives during the year. Apart from conducting regular training programmes, the Company has organised programmes on following aspects E.M. Najeeb and his team Customer servicing & telephone manners. CRS [Systems training] Full fledged training on products operations and sales Stress management Behavioural aspects Personality development ATE avails of the CRS training provided by Amadeus for all new employees. All employees are put through the ongoing refresher training programmes imparted by Amadeus to keep them updated on the CRS functions and related subjects and to make them familiar with technology innovations like e-ticketing etc. Q: It is said that Insurance is the subject matter of solicitation, has the Amadeus insurance product benefited you and your clients? In what way? A: All our Insurance travel products are now booked through the system. The pioneering efforts from Amadeus has changed the way this product was being offered; time consuming efforts in filling up forms and sending them to the local insurance company office etc. Now it is a complete integrated offering along with ticketing and other related services and a valuable additive to the bottom line. Q: Since your office is using the top of the line browser based front office system called, VISTA, do you think that the delivery of service to your clients has improved? A: Amadeus Vista has been an instant hit with our younger travel consultants who are more attuned to working with the windows based graphical interface front office reservation tool; and the provision of an enhanced command screen mode has been equally good at getting converts from the older crowd who are handy with the cryptic command screen options. Access to a graphical point and click interface to the majority of transactions to and from the host adds to the usability of the system even by a computer newbie; equally attractive is the splitscreen option and the ease by which even very complex queries can be handled. The addition of simplified entry process for car, hotel, cruise and ferry bookings is especially useful to the leisure segment and the presentation of other travel related information services such as industry news, customer profiles and provider information combine to make a much more functional tool for both novice & expert users. Q: Finally, what message would you like to give to the industry at large? A: One must conduct business in an ethical framework, with the customer as the central focus, keeping in mind our responsibilities to the customer, our employees, to society and finally to us. We must be competitive at all times, constantly innovate and accept change as a constant reality.

Amadeus Learning City (ALC) is an e-learning website which offers a variety of services including: Online learning on the Amadeus system: Self-paced courses, quizzes, multimedia product demos and printable reference material Skills assessment: real-time tracking and reporting Online communication: discussion forums, chat sessions, To avail this fantastic offering, follow the simple steps below to create your unique user ID and password to access the site. Step1: Access the ALC registration page through the URL RegistrationPage.jsp Step2: Enter the ALC V1 user id and password already in use Be in touch with your Amadeus office in case you do not have this Step3: You are directed to the online registration form. Fill in the details and click on Submit Voila! You are now connected to the ALC V2 site. Contact your nearest Amadeus office for more details on how to navigate in the site and benefit fully from the user friendly interface. Useful Tip: Save the ALC V2 site address in Favorites Give the url a friendly name such as Amadeus e-learning. You can search the catalog, browse the catalog, or do an advanced search. You can also do a search via the Catalog tab. The next time you need to access ALC V2, simply pick the friendly name from Favorites and connect via the user id and password created by you. Share your feedback with us by using the online feedback form available on the site! The blue tab is the active tab. This list contains the self-paced offerings that you recently accessed. The Wish List is a list of learning events that you may want to take in the future.
