5 5 An Unforgettable Year at the Bloomsburg Airport By: Dave Ruckle It s hard to believe another year has passed so quickly. Where did 2018 go? Perhaps the old saying, Time flies when you re having fun, (no matter what you re flying) is so true, especially when you re hanging out at the Bloomsburg Airport. If you missed some or any of the activities at N13, go to and click on About Us. There you can read each month s edition of the airport newsletter and catch up on the whole years worth of events, activities, and feature stories that made 2018 so memorable at the Bloomsburg airport. It s a great website to bookmark in your computer. For example, check out the pictorial stories like the Chamber of Commerce After Hours event hosted by the Bloomsburg Airport in April, or June s pictorial story about Bloom Flyers Breakfast, Pig Roast and FAA Safety Seminar and the 27 th Annual Dream Machine Car Show. Speaking of cars, the Bloomsburg Airport acquired its first courtesy car this year due to the generosity of Dan Broadt and the Bloom Flyers. And, for two years in a row, N13 has been the host for the Columbia Montour Council Community Day which is co-sponsored by Boy Scouts of America. This year we also had the distinct privilege of hosting National Night Out for the first time, and we look forward to hosting it in the coming years. Proof that a picture is worth a thousand words, Elise Hughes (on left), the official (volunteer) airport photographer, does an amazing job capturing stories like these through the lens of a camera. Check them out! Each month s edition also reports on numerous other events, too. Educational, inspirational, and fun activities like FAA Safety Seminars, STEM programs, private pilot ground school courses, pilot accomplishments, Colonel Stahl s Annual Breakfast & Poker Run and numerous Fly-ins & Fly-outs. Even a Chili Cook off!
