2 PROGRAM: GILWELL - KOWLOON PEAK Wilderness camping at Kowloon peak High element rotations Explore wilderness survival Hike to the top of Kowloon peak Stunning skyline views Accommodation: TENTS Pax: 92 ACTIVITIES ROTATIONS Students rotate through the following activities over two days Wall climbing Survival & Shelter building Jacobs ladder First Aid with search & rescue skills Balance Beam Push Bike Challenge Orienteering Full day activities Students will also leave Gilwell to participate in each of the following full day activities. Hiking to the top of one of HK s most dramatic peaks (Kowloon peak) Kayaking journey & skills development in Sai Kung On the final day groups will compete in a localised Adventure race throughout the surrounding hills Asia Pacific Adventure (APA) [ 2]

3 PROGRAM: TAI TAM SCOUT CENTRE Hike towards the beautiful Gorge Kayak & dragon boat in the bays of Tai Tam Gorge trekking High elements rotations Accommodation: TENTS & DORMS Pax: 48 Activity rotations Rock Climbing Abseiling Survival Challenges Kayaking Wilderness First Aid with search & rescue techniques Full day activities Students will also leave Tai Tam to participate in each of the following full day activities. 4 PROGRAM: TAI MEI TUK Hike along HK s most impressive ridge line Pat Sin Leng Kayaking journey within the bays of Tai Po Gorge trekking Accommodation: DORMS Pax: 60 Program breakdown As well as full day activities students will also take part in the following activities Team building & initiative activities Wilderness First Aid with search & rescue techniques Advanced Navigation work including night nav Adventure racing - Teams will utilise skills & techniques learnt throughout the week in a fun competitive 1/2 day race in the Tai Po area Program breakdown All participants will spend a full day completing the following activities Brides Pool Gorge Hike - Students will scramble up rocks along a river and alongside impressive waterfalls stopping for lunch at a beautiful freshwater pool. There will be plenty of opportunity for swimming and jumping into the pools Pat Sin Leng Ridge Hike - Arguably the most stunning ridge line in HK. Overlooking Tai Po park and the northern shore of Sai Kung country park students will hike along the ridge line as far as they feel comfortable Kayaking - Journey & skills development in the bays of Tai Po [ 4]

5 ACCOMMODATION The campsites and dorms have basic facilities and are both safe and secure. All three locations are based in areas of outstanding natural beauty and really showcase the best Hong Kong has to offer MEALS We aim to provide healthy, balanced meals with fruit and filtered drinking water throughout the day. Students will help prepare all meals. EQUIPMENT APA uses and maintains a high standard of equipment for all of its activities. APA provides their own PFDs (Personal Floatation Devices), ropes, helmets, harnesses and other technical equipment. SAFETY All lead APA staff are First Aid qualified and carry radios, mobile phones and first aid kits at all times. APA follows a safety management system developed from decades of in-house senior team experience and influenced by several leading national governing bodies including: British Canoe Union, New Zealand Outdoor Instructors Award, Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, UK's Mountain Leader Training Board and USA's Rescue 3 International amongst others. APA has developed professional skills training programs for everything from mountain biking to rock rescue as well as delivers Risk Management courses for international school faculty. FACILITATION Our company specializes in facilitation with a high staff to student ratio of 1:12, and 1:6 when using high elements and water based activities. Each group of students will have their own APA facilitator for the entire program. Team names, song/chants and team goals will be established and team reflection and reviews carried out after each activity. Certificates will be given at the end of program. 6 OUR TEAM COST Program cost includes accommodation, meals (including snacks and filtered water), all transport once in Hong Kong, experienced facilitators, program delivery, all activity & safety equipment and public liability insurance during activities. Program cost does not include travel to and from Hong Kong Program cost is based on minimum 24 students. Price adjusted for less than 24 students.
