1 Scout Led Index S Item Code FS Jan/03 Edition no This is the second edition of a factsheet designed to help Members identify which rules and guidance relate to a particular activity. Further editions of this factsheet will be issued to reflect additional activities not currently covered. All changes from the first edition are either shown with a sideline if text or shaded if in a table. This factsheet provides guidance for steps one through to five. For help in steps six and seven see factsheets: FS Safety in : Safety Checks FS Risk Assessment FS Home Contacts Introduction This index table covers activities when they are led by people in and involve people in. When using outside organisations to supply activities, POR rule 9.9: Use of Professional Centres and Instructors and factsheet FS Commercially Led Index should be followed. The steps required to run Scout led activities are: 1) Check POR rules 2) Check factsheets 3) Check if authorisation is required 4) Check whether further insurance is required 5) Check whether HQ needs notifying 6) Complete a risk assessment 7) Appoint a Home Contact Third Standard Scout insurance does not cover Members for third party liability in motorised land vehicles. Members should contact Scout Services before taking part in motorised land activities to see whether they need to take out third party liability insurance. The List Table The heading POR Rules lists all the specific POR rules relating to an activity. Under the heading Other Information all relevant factsheets are listed. identifies whether a authorisation is required before leading the activity. shows whether you should contact Scout Services regarding third party insurance cover. tification identifies whether you need to inform the Scout Information Centre every time the activity takes place.
