1 Editor s Notes Due to the recent resignation of our club s Commodore, Vice Commodore, Yeoman and Audit Chairman from their positions and from membership in Milwaukee Boat Club, there will be no Commodore s Comments or minutes in this month s edition of The Runabouter. Scott Burke has assumed the position of interim Commodore, and Judy Dorner has accepted the position of interim Yeoman. We need members to step up and fill the vacant offices. Please consider pitching in to help. There are a couple of date changes to take note of. The general membership meeting that was originally scheduled for April 25 has been changed to the Shove- Off-Spree on May 17 th at the Seven Seas Restaurant. A Wednesday Madness has been added for May 8 th at the Bavarian Bierhaus in Glendale, behind Kopps and West of I43. See the flyer on page 7. Here s an update on our website, MilwaukeeBoatClub.com. A password protected section has been added to the site and contains the current Runabouter issue along with the electronic newsletter archives. 3 Scuttlebutt From Bonnie M. Grey and Cindy took a much-needed break from the Wisconsin winter to stay with Bonnie in Ft. Myers. The three happily soaked up the sun on Sanibel Island. The day after Grey and Cindy returned home, Dick and Karen arrived for a fun-filled and relaxing stay which included celebrating St. Patrick's Day! After saying "goodbye" to Bonnie, Dick and Karen left for their cruise to Key West and Mexico. Bonnie, Dick & Karen Minutes from the April 3 rd Board Meeting The board of directors accepted the resignaitons of the Commodore, Vice Commordore, and the Yeoman. The board asked Past Commodore Scott to act as interim Commodore, and he accepted. There will be a board of director s meeting on April 11 to make plans for reorganization. A general membership meeting was held after dinner at the Fox and Hounds. Scott asked members to step up to the open postions. There will be no meeting on April 25, and the next meeting will be held at the May 17 Shove Off Spree. A final audit will be conducted and reported back to membership. A correction was noted in the February 2019 Runabouter, page 5, item had a profit of $32.53 and not $ deficit as printed. Recipe of the Month Artichoke Hummus 1 can navy beans, drained 1 can artichokes drained and tough outer leaves removed 1-2 garlic cloves minced 2 Tbs tahini (ground sesame seeds) 2 Tbs olive oil 2 Tbs lemon juice Blend in food processor until smooth. 6 MARCH MADNESS Ten MBC members met on Tuesday March 12th at The Park Avenue Pizza restaurant in Pewaukee. This is probably the fifth time we ve met at this location being that the accommodations are very nice and the food is great. We met at the bar for about an hour after which we moved to a private area in the dining room. All of us gathered around one table and because it was a small group it was easy to visit with each other. In years past we had double the number of members attending but because this time we did it much earlier in the year, many members were out of town. As always we had a great time and look forward to doing it again next year.
