It's your club and you did me proud! Nice small group but a lot of fun for Super Bowl. I understand it was a Football game or something and someone won it, I guess. Tons of food and lots of drinks. Delta Marina Y.C. cruised in for Valentines with fantastic weather. What a wonderful club they are. Tina Tremain, your First Lady, served 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts. Could not have been done without the great help of the "Treadways," "Camerons," & Trish Marwedel. You were all Angel's for Tina. Monthly dinner seems to be a large success being on Saturday night. The Rear Commodore cooked up a wonderful dinner for a "Fantastic" group of 40 members. It was Super to have our old friend, Ben Penn there, or can I say welcome home. Your club is looking good and you all make me proud to be called "your" Commodore. Don't miss out next month! Delta Bayliners are cruising in for St. Patty's Day. Get your GREEN DUD's out, come have a great time, but most of all, DON'T miss out on THE BEST CORN BEEF & CABBAGE on the entire Delta especially cooked by Chef Tina Tremain. That will be Saturday, March 17th. Keep up the great work and don't forget your green's! That includes the Officers as well. Safe and smooth boating till our wakes cross again. 3 The Anchor Page 3 Vice Commodore s Report And we are off to a running start again! Hard to believe we are about to start March with opening day just around the corner! We have decided to move our club clean-up to June 2 nd. We have been spot cleaning as we go, and everyone is trying to get ready for our first cruise out to River Point Marina on March 9 th 11 th. If you didn t get signed up to stay, I am sure you can still drive in for our hobo dinner on Saturday night. Just let Bob Kocher know! The general meeting falls on St. Patrick s Day this year and of course we will be having corned beef and cabbage. The weekend will also see the Delta Bayliner Yacht Club cruising in! Make sure to check your s and get your RSVP s in for dinner on Friday and or Saturday! We are adding events regularly and will update you when we do! If you have any suggestions for events, want to help or know of a club that might want to cruise in, be sure to let us know!! As always, hoping you are living life, enjoying the water and friends!! Our March dinner and meeting happens to fall on Saint Patrick s Day so be ready for lots of Corned Beef! We will also be hosting our friends from the Delta Bayliner Club that same weekend. On Friday night, the 16 th, we will have a build your own tacos bar setup for dinner and the Corned Beef will be Saturday night. Please see the flyer for more details. 5 The Anchor Page 5 Port s Report We had a wonderful weekend with a cruise in by Delta Marine Yacht Club starting February 9 th through Sunday the 12 th. The weather was so incredible Thursday and Friday with temperatures in the mid 70's. Saturday was windy with gusts up to 40 mph. It had blown itself out so when Sunday came around for them to go home, they had an easy sunny trip. They had four boats come in Thursday which one had to leave Friday for medical reasons. Friday, they had three more boats in and then Saturday one more arrival. They had barbeque steaks on their own Thursday night down by the docks then had meals with us Friday and Saturday with breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. It was a wonderful weekend for February and the guests made it all work for them with finger food and champagne on the docks enjoying the moment. I am looking forward to more cruise ins as the new Port Captain and cruise outs coming in the coming months. Paul Cameron Port Captain MWYC
