1 Cruise News PRESIDENT S MESSAGE March, 2018 Well, can you believe it is already March? Where is the time going? As we begin our 100 day marathon of car shows, club putts, Del Mar Nationals and the Streak. We will be a very busy club. Each of you are doing your best to make this a great year and we all notice. Was that a great Club Putt to Annie s Café or what!!!!! From what I saw, every one of you had a great time. After the Putt I received at least a dozen phone texts and s saying you loved it. You were all great sports wearing those hats and it added to the fun. I know there was a lot of pictures taken by some of our members. The food and entrainment was good as well as the company, you!!!!!! The drive up went well but man that traffic going back wasn t the greatest but it was great success. So tell you what? This one will be our 1 st Annual so we will do it every year and see if it works out. Next year will be our 2 nd Annual Annie s Café Putt. If you have a great idea for a Club Putt or a Tech Night please contact either Joe Pifer or me. We won t hold you to your idea. We will do the work and get everybody together. We just need your ideas. Remember this is your Club and it is what you make of it. I want to thank our member Ray Lake for donating the American Flag that we will use to start our meetings with the Pledge of Allegiance. I don t know if any of you remember Red Skelton when he did his interpretation of the pledge of allegiance so here is the link to watch it Or I think we all need to remember where we came from and who we really are? We all came from different parts of the United States and sometimes even the world BUT we have all come together for a common purpose. If you don t know how to access those web addresses above. Then me and I will you the links so all you have to do is click on them. For you old guys that don t even know how to spell computer ask your grandson or daughter. They will do it for you Remember Del Mar Nationals and STREAK45 is creeping up on us so make sure you volunteer and/or register for these events. So I am getting ready to go to Midnight at the Oasis car show in Yuma, Arizona so I bid you all Farewell for now and see you all at the meeting. You re President, Ralph Garcia

T. H. G. MEETING Minutes for February 07, 2018 Called to order: 7:00 PM by Ralph Garcia, President Adjourned: 8:10 PM Guests/Visitors: None. Minutes: The reading of last months minutes waived, approved as is, M/S/P. Treasurer s Report: Treasurer, Sue Chambers read the treasurer s report. M/S/P Treasurers report approved by the members in attendance. New Members: None. Correspondence/Car Club Council: Bill Lewis reminded us of Trueline s show on March 11. CCC is boycotting the Coronado show for being disrespectful to the other car clubs and not allowing any car clubs to pass out their show flyers at the event. Streak Report: Debra announced that K row was opened up to camping and the club cars will be moved to the edge of the grass area so they now will be part of the car show. Overflow will be able to park beach side. Bill Jefferies is in charge of club parking and needs volunteers to work. Club parking will be for registered club cars only, no door slammers. Herb Johnson is in charge of the front gate and passed around a sign up sheet. His wife is making cookie for all the front gate workers. Hilton is in charge of the parking on the grass and is also in need of volunteers. Let Larry Hume know if you plan on donating a gift basket. DJ is looking for trivia and give aways that he can use on the stage. Medical Report: Larry Johnson had back surgery. Bobbie Atkinson fell and is currently in a nursing home for rehabilitation. New/Old Business: Ralph announced we would be opening each meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Ray Lake donated a new flag for this purpose. Tony Bartz volunteered to be our raffle person. It is time to sign up to be in the NSRA fellow pages, see Ralph if you wish to be included. Bob Harrington is working on reserving spots for OTHG at the 2019 Midnight at the Oasis. Please let him know if you plan on going next year. Joe Pifer announced that this would be the last Big 3 swap meet. Ralph awarded the Perpetual Trophy and a $50.00 gift card to Debra McDowell in recognition for managing the Goodguys event 2017, 2018 and running this years Streak as the Streak Chairman. Goodguys update: Debra said her meeting with them went well. There will be a Poker Run and a cruise but no lunch on Friday. John Kowalski needs 15 front gate workers for some shifts on Saturday and all day Sunday. Goodguys at one time paid us $1, for hosting their show and we paid them to camp. They then had the club take over the campsites and stopped paying us to host the event. The club charged the members to camp and the revenue went to the club. Some of that revenue went to pay for the Saturday lunch we host. The club had no other source of income other than dues and Goodguys camping fees. Susie (Treasurer) stated that every year the club expenses exceed our income by approx. $ This is not an issue right now since we have a positive balance sheet from a reserve, but will become an issue at some future date. Ralph s point was the club members who camp are on call to fill in at any workstation that is short. Because of this camping should be free. M/S/P No charge for camping at the 2018 Goodguys event. M/S/P $ approved for the Saturday lunch. Club Store: Sale: Yellow sweatshirts $15.00, Long sleeve T-shirts $10.00 Contact Nathalee Adragna if interested. viters@cox.net or Cell Club Putt/Tech Night: Club Putt Saturday 2/17. Two meeting spots, Vine Street in Lakeside 10:00. East County Mall in Escondido 11:00. Caravan to Lake Elsinore and Annie s Café for lunch. Runs/Reviews: Approx. 150 cars at the Burger Run. Cars & Parts: Were announced. Respectfully submitted, Sharolyn Kerns, Secretary
