Box 61109, Palm Bay, FL Palm Bay Lodge meets at our Lodge Room, 4430 US Highway 1, Unit 4, (Located 1 block south of Palm Bay Road on US 1) Meetings start at 7:30 pm on the 1 st and 3 rd Tuesdays. Come at 6:30 and you ll get fed. FROM THE EAST My Brothers, I believe this was the fastest year in history, and to our lodge, the most devastating! As we start a New Year traveling upon the Level of Time, I wish for all, a happy, healthy, and prosperous life throughout 2019, and many years to come. As a small lodge, we have a challenging task before us and I hope all our members will be cognizant of the requirements necessary to keep our lodge progressing. As we all know, it takes more than money (Dues and fund raising) to keep the lodge going. It also takes, of equal importance, Participation. I challenge each and every member to remember why you became a Mason and I look forward to assisting each of you in your quest to bring that journey to fruition. 1

2 Congratulations are in order to our newest Master Mason, Brother Roland Nowell. He is well on his journey and we look forward to seeing him often at our meetings and events. I hope the Holidays were well spent by all, and shared by family and friends. I would like to thank all the Officers and brothers for making my year as Master a memorable and rewarding occasion, and I look forward to my continued participation as an active member. R.W. Thomas Johnson FROM THE SOUTH Brothers, it has been my privilege to serve you in the South this year. It will be my honor to serve in the West next year. As you should know by now, our 2019 Trap Shoot and Raffle will be held in its usual place on February 16. This year we will be giving away FOUR guns. There should be something for everyone. This is our largest fund raiser of the year, so if you value your Lodge, you should sell some tickets! The profit from this event helps us keep the lights on, so come out on Feb. 16th and have some fun. Joe Yaw Junior Warden Senior Warden-elect TRESTLEBOARD DISTRIBUTION For the past several years, Palm Bay s Trestleboard has been mailed along with the Trestleboards of two other local lodges. We do this in order to get the best rate on bulk mailing; minimum mailing is 200 pieces. Our three lodges come in at just over 200 pieces, thereby the cost per piece is 20 cents. To mail them First Class would cost 50 cents each. One of the lodges has decided to pull out of this arrangement. This means that we can t get the bulk rate, and postage costs more than double for us. We can t afford an increase like this. Discussion of alternatives at Lodge on 18 Dec resulted in the following policy, to be implemented effective 1 January 2019: The Trestleboard will be formatted and prepared as soon after the 15th of the month as practical. It will be posted on the Lodge web page for all to see. It will also be ed to all Lodge members who have provided the Secretary with an address. 2

3 If you have not already done so, make sure that our Secretary has your address. Paper copies will be available at Lodge Stated Meetings; if you want a paper copy, come to Lodge and get one. If you want a paper copy and are unable to attend Lodge, discuss this with the Secretary. We regret this inconvenience, but we must control expenses where we can. However, I am sure whatever s provided will be good. Or at least, non-lethal. 4 MASONIC EDUCATION My Brothers, As we continue our Masonic journeys, education is an ever continuing, integral part of that journey. We each have our favorite part of that journey, be it History, Ritual, or learning the different Lectures, Charges, Prayers, etc. But the main thing is that we take the time to learn more about masonry which in turn, enriches that journey and makes us better enabled to display the beauties of Freemasonry to our friends, family, and the world. 5 ELECTION OF 2019 LODGE OFFICERS We will be selecting our officers for 2019 at the 1 Dec Stated Meeting. Please make it a point to attend and take part in this function. YARD/RUMMAGE SALE Our Yard Sale was successful, with thanks going to Pat Chadwick, the organizer, Fred Platt and Grace Farmer, sales people, and Bob Chadwick, the designated peon. Good job, everyone. RAFFLE/TRAPSHOOT Our Annual Raffle/Trap shoot will take place on 16 Feb. See Joe Yaw for tickets. This is now our biggest fund raiser of the year. Your support is needed. Besides, it is a great morning and a chance to demonstrate your skill with a shotgun. CHRISTMAS PARTY We all celebrated Christmas at Carraba s in Palm Bay on 20 December. Had a great time, as usual. SHRINE KIDs CHRISTMAS PARTY Palm Bay Lodge sponsored the Child ID event at the Shrine Kids party on 16 December. We provided ID kits for over 40 kids. Thanks to participants Tom Johnson, Andy Cosenza, Terry Hill, Fred Platt, Joe Yaw, Ed Lyle, Bob Chadwick, and a special tip of the hat to our youngest Entered Apprentice Anthony McDonough. We hope to see a lot more of him at things like this. MORE RITUAL PRACTICE W. Bro Terry Hill will meet with any Brother who wants to get in some extra Practice, at the Lodge at 6:30 pm on Thursday nights. Call, text or Bro. Terry to set this up. (Thanks, Bro.
