Educational Sessions 8:45 am 9:45 am NUCA 2010 Outlook: What s Happening in the Industry Bill Hillman, NUCA Bill Hillman came to NUCA in January 1991, and served as Legislative Counsel and Director of Government Relations before his appointment as Executive Vice President, and then Chief Executive Officer (February 2000). He also serves as a permanent director on NUCA s Foundation for Education and Research. This session will review and discuss outside forces that impact your company s performance and what we can do together to improve profitability. Mr. Hillman will also share NUCA s legislative and regulatory advocacy programs what they are and why they are important. This session will aim to address governmental issues that will impact the way that we conduct business; you won t want to miss out on getting this valuable industry insight. 10:00 am 11:30 am A Funny Economist Delivering Real Insight in Troubled Times Peter Ricchiuti, Economist Peter Ricchiuti is the business school professor you wish you had back in college. He teaches courses on the financial markets at Tulane University s A.B. Freeman School of Business and his insight and humor have twice made him the school s top professor. Tulane s finance department has been named as one of the ten best in the world by the Financial Times of London. Peter started his career with the investment firm of Kidder Peabody and later managed over three billion dollars as the assistant treasurer for the state of Louisiana. In 1993 he founded Tulane s highly acclaimed BURKENROAD REPORTS stock research program. Peter has addressed hundreds of groups and his work has been featured on CNN and CNBC as well as in The New York Times, BARRON S, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. Peter has presented to a wide variety of audiences throughout the world. Tuesday, March 2, :00 am 11:00 am Be the Best You Can Be Rocky Bleier Rocky Bleier s life story - a gripping tale of courage on both the football fields of America and the battlefields of Vietnam - has held audiences in rapt attention for years. Yet, the motivational message behind it, detailing how ordinary people can become extraordinary achievers, defines success in the new American century. With the same optimism, sense of humor and steadfast determination that were his trademarks as a Pittsburgh Steelers running back, Rocky Bleier takes audiences from his early years through his professional career and talks about the lessons he learned along the way.lessons that we all can benefit from. Not falling within the ideal of what a running back should look like, Bleier had to run harder and play smarter to be able to stand out. Despite his drive and ability to make the big play, the Pittsburgh Steelers only considered him a late round pick. But before the season ended that first year, he was drafted again this time by the United States Army. At the height of the Vietnam War, Bleier was thrust into combat early and was seriously wounded when his platoon ran into an ambush. Receiving wounds from both rifle fire and grenade fragments in his legs, he was barely able to walk and his professional football career seemed to have ended before it began.

The hard lessons Rocky Bleier learned early in his life that helped him overcome adversity and reach his goals, have paid off after football.

4 For more than two years, he drove himself. Little by little he overcame obstacles and fought his way back. He not only made the Pittsburgh Steelers, but also eventually became a starting running back on a team that won four Super Bowls and became the greatest football team of the 20th century. The hard lessons Rocky Bleier learned early in his life that helped him overcome adversity and reach his goals, have paid off after football. Some of those lessons are seen between the lines in the popular book on his life, Fighting Back, and an ABC-TV movie of the week by the same name. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 Reception, Dinner and Performance by the Capitol Steps 6:30 pm 9:30 pm Wrap up another successful Annual Meeting by dining and laughing with the Capitol Steps, who are back by popular demand after their uproarious performance at the 2007 Annual Meeting! For over 20 years the cast and crew have been entertaining audiences through their satirical skits and parodies of politics in the US. Though not all of the members of Capitol Steps have been former Capitol Hill staffers, together the performers have worked in eighteen Congressional Offices and represent 65 years of collective House and Senate staff experience. Performances by the Capitol Steps have been seen on the Today Show, 20/20, Entertainment Tonight, Nightline, and National Public Radio s All Things Considered. 5 The first WASDA Fall Meeting & Partnership Forum was held in 1998 at the Loews Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel, Nashville, TN.
