Many important projects were completed around camp from taking down tent canvas to filling in stairs to various erosion projects across camp. It is through these projects that make it possible for many young scouts to enjoy their summer camp experiences. The hard work and dedication you, my brothers, put into these projects impacts the next generation of scouts into having positive experiences from their youth. With that said, thank you for your hard work into making a difference in a younger scouts scouting experience. Being the Lodge Chief, I have the unique opportunity of seeing the weekend unfold between the committees and the general membership. After watching the hard work and dedication of you, my brothers, it makes me proud Continues on page 2 September 11th Memorial Nine years ago an event occurred that will be remembered in American history forever. September 11 th, 2001 four planes were hijacked by terrorists and each was headed for a target; The World Trade Center, The Pentagon and another still unknown location. At approximately 8:46 am the first plane had hit its target, one of the twin towers. Many people were still wondering what happened, looking at the smoke coming out on one side of the tower; Workers at the tower started to emerge from the building and describe what happened.. Pretty soon the brave men and women of the New York City police, fire department and ambulance crews were showing up to control and handle this terrible situation. Within minutes of the arrival of the firefighters and police they started forming groups to go into the burning tower to try and rescue the people inside; not knowing what was to happen to them in the near future. 2 Continued from page 1 and honored to be your elected official. I am only the elected head of this organization; it is you the youth and adults of this order that decide where this lodge will go. Take every opportunity you get to experience the fullness of being an OA member. Without you, the lodge would not exist; which makes you one of the many leaders we have in this great organization. Continue to be involved with the Order so we may continue to deliver brotherhood and cheerful service to our camps. On that note, I congratulate all of those brothers who have completed their Ordeal, Brotherhood, and have received the Vigil Honor. Our next lodge weekend will be at Camp Roosevelt which is the LLD from October I encourage all members to attend this weekend of fellowship and training. Behind the mess hall a fence was being built today, the fence is a nice log fence, some of the logs were cut on site. The fence is being built to keep traffic low around the mess hall, which is greatly needed. While looking at the fence being built I noticed two Arrowmen carrying a huge log by themselves, the log looked very heavy but the Arrowmen seemed not to care; Continues on page 5 Where is this in Camp? Adviser s Minute First off thank you all for coming to the service weekend. We got a lot of work done and you should all be proud of what we have accomplished. What we did not have in numbers this weekend we have made up in hard work. I would ask you all to look around the camps when you are with your units so that way we can know what need to get done around the camp.

3 Continued from page 1 A mere two hours after the attack, World Trade Center Tower One had collapsed. All of America watched as Tower One fell, many families watched, wondering what would happen to their loved ones inside the tower. During this disaster, Tower 2 of the world trade centers and The Pentagon where also hit. Many were rescued but many more were lost to these acts of terrorism. One target still remained, but because the brave passengers of the hijacked flight rose up and tried to take the plane back it crashed well short of its target. Today, September 11, 2010, we honored the brave men and women who lost their lives in trying to save their fellow Americans in the form of a flag ceremony. Every scout and Scouter at Pine Hill gathered at the flag poles to remember the ones who had lost their lives. After the ceremony we listened to a brief story about a scoutmaster who went back into the burning tower to try and save as many people as he could. Sadly he did not make it out himself; however, two people he had guided out told his story to many people so he could be remembered for his act of heroism. September 11 th, 2001 will be remembered by all Americans, so this evening during your religious services or whenever, remember those who went into the burning towers, remember those who lost their lives and give a prayer for their friends and family members. This week the Ordeal candidates get to help keep the stairs in working order by carrying buckets of dirt from the bottom of the stairs to the top to help fill the stairs in. Working on these stairs can get quite troublesome, I know because I had to do the same thing for my Ordeal, so a word of thanks goes out to the Ordeal Candidates. Some of the candidates went off to go help out with the task of taking down and packing up the canvas tents that remained up around camp from the Conclave. The candidates made quick work of the tents and had the camp packed up incredibly fast. Way down the road was the Brotherhood candidates working on a road block to keep unwanted vehicles from sneaking in camp. I didn t get to see much however seeing how they were just getting started but the fence is bound to look great. Jimmy Grelli

5 Chapter Reports Kon-Kon-Tu (Apatukwe) Chapter Report Kon-Kon-TU Chapter report The merger between Apatukwe and Kon-Kon-Tu was a success. The new Chapter has voted to keep the Kon-Kon-Tu name and totem. Aaron Tolliver has been voted Chapter Chief, while Zach Cabral and Garrett Heipern have been voted Vice Chiefs. Location and dates for the meetings are still pending discussion. Lekau Chapter Report Normal monthly meetings are the 1 st Tuesday of each month, 7:30pm at Lekau Lodge., except May, June, September and October where meetings are held at the Service weekends. Unilachtego Chapter Report Unilachtego Chapter meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month alongside the Old Colony District Roundtable at 7:30pm. Also behind the mess hall there was a few Arrowmen and candidates carrying buckets up the hill. Upon further Investigation I figured out the hill was heavily eroded and was covering up a stream at the bottom of the hill. The Arrowmen and candidates job was to get the dirt from erosion up the hill to a wheelbarrow; the wheelbarrow then went
