3 About Balranald Inc Balranald is a small town with a population of 1200 in south west NSW on the Murrumbidgee River. Our town has seen its fair share of hardships over the years but continues to thrive, re-inventing itself as a tourist destination with a difference. Balranald Inc is a not-for-profit community development organisation established in 2008 by a passionate group of volunteers who are committed to improving the Balranald community both economically and socially. Balranald Inc are the coordinators of, held annually on the second weekend of October. About the 5 Rivers Outback Festival The 5 Rivers Outback Festival provides a valuable platform to showcase Balranald Shire s many attractions including the Shire s stunning natural wonders, which boasts five rivers, majestic River Redgum forests and two spectacular National Parks (Mungo & Yanga). The Festival helps to increase Balranald s profile and image as a genuine and unique tourism destination and helps to stimulate the economy of Balranald and the surrounding communities. Festival Structure & Features * The Festival is run annually in October. This year will be the eighth 5 Rivers Outback Festival and it costs around $50,000 to stage annually. * It celebrates all that is wonderful about living in rural Australia in a unique location where some of Australia s most iconic river systems merge into the mighty Murray River. The confluence of the Lachlan, Murrumbidgee, Edwards and Wakool joining the Murray River, provides the perfect theme for this Festival. * Event activities, entertainment and displays appealing to all age groups are combined into a packed festival program culminating in quality musical entertainment. * Our target audience are locals, families from feeder towns, the massive grey nomad crowd who passes through Balranald every year, and pretty much anyone who appreciates great live music! page 1

6 Festival Program 2018 We are very excited to be bringing Adam Brand to Balranald in 2018 with his 20 Year Anniversary Greatest Hits Tour! This year will see a slight change in program, with events kicking off on Friday 5th October. Our local retailers will be holding markets and sales from Friday onwards as well as our local craft market. Our official opening will be Friday evening at The Gallery, followed by a Progressive Dinner through town to be finished up with live music on the river bank. Our headline act for Saturday s Big Bash is Adam Brand and his band, with performances from other local bands such as Overdraft, Code 5 & Revive Band. Sunday's activities will finish up a great weekend, with Sunday Markets and Bare Foot Bowls & Live Music at The Ex Services Club. Our Full program is still being finalised and will be released soon. 7 Business Exposure We understand that business decisions need to be made with the head as well as the heart, just knowing you have helped a vibrant rural community is not enough. The considerable investment in sponsorship must also be based on sound economics and return on investment. You can expect extensive exposure for your investment including; Lead-up Media & Marketing * Website Regular Social Media posts and announcements all link to the website for more comprehensive information and announcements. Social Media statics show that at least half of the audience that engage with our posts will click on the link to the website * Blog Regular Blogs on weekly actions of the Festival team members and Sponsors participating leading up to the Festival will be linked from the Social Media Pages & Website to engage the audience and to get the audience to buy into the Festival * Facebook Page Currently 3,650 LIKES and rising, with 35, 000 regular views. Our Facebook page address will also be on all marketing communications. Regular posts of interest and updates including promotion of Sponsors will be a daily activity. Competitions involving LIKES & SHARES will be constant to build optimum awareness through the viral exposure and networking. * Twitter Page A Twitter Page has been created for regular updates and links to Blogs to have more regular engagement with the audience. Important announcements such as Sponsors will also be posted on the Twitter page. The Twitter Page will also be used as a newsfeed during the Festival event. The Twitter page will be promoted on all marketing communications * YouTube Videos A promotional video was launched last year on our YouTube Account. This creates another medium to increase our positioning on Google Search along with the integration of the Google + tools. This year s video will also be on the Website and links to our YouTube & Google+ page will be promoted on the website and social media pages. Videos of last year s performances will also be uploaded to our YouTube account as well as one other videos of interest to build excitement and interest. * Instagram An Instagram account will also be set up this year as part of the media mix to create and generate more traffic and increase position on Google Search and other search engines. Instagram will be a great way to promote last years Festival pictures as well as instant action pictures leading up to the Festival and during the Festival. page 5
