This report form will record the information that will be helpful to the ASCE Board of Direction, the Region 10 Board of Governors and Headquarters staff in evaluating International Groups. Groups may supplement the requested data with additional information and pictures if they wish. The report may also be utilized by officers of the Group as a management tool in developing different Group programs for the upcoming year. 2

7 7.0 GENERAL Brief description of other programs, activities, projects, meetings, studies conducted by the Group during the past year: 1. ASCE-TWIG Technology Exchange Forum (February 23, 2013) A one-day technical forum titled: Seeing the Invisible The Power of Animation and Visualization on Saturday 23 February As graphics are the foundation of conventional Civil Engineering, conveying concept and coordinating various inputs among architects, engineers and contractors 2D drawings became the common language used for communication. As computer technology advances in recent years, enormous computer space and computational speed enable engineers to explore, analyze, and manage massive information of a dynamic, interactive, three dimensional environments. An effective visualization greatly help engineers, clients, government agencies, and community stakeholders assess the impact of a civil engineering project at any point of interest on timely manner. While these trends are inevitable and reversible, current achievements cannot be overemphasized. The ASCE-TWIG Technology Exchange Forum provided a platform for exploring opportunities to work together. The ASCE-TWIG Technology Exchange Forum featured 10 speakers from academia and industry. Subjects cover Civil to Architectural, practical solutions on issues from local to global aspect. A wide spectrum of animation beginning with the space above and beyond to the earth surface and foundation below, from solid materials to intangible flow, from scientific to cultural impact, the forum highlights the high-tech Civil Engineering IT integration presented by highly competent Taiwan civil engineers today. Instead of addressing lengthy theoretical background, all speakers presented real-world applications implementing the state-of-the-art simulation tools. The meet was well attended and results were truly remarkable. 2. Social Event A Gala Dinner sponsored by ASCE-TWIG President Dr. Edward Wang at a local Hotel. More than 20 ASCE-TWIG professional engineers got together and discussed how engineers responded to the challenge of Globalization on 11 June The outcome of the social event brought a series of follow up actions. 3. Updated on ASCE-TWIG Member Contact Per ASCE Head quarter s request, ASCE-TWIG leaders reviewed and made direct contacts with individual member to update s and contact information. 4. CECAR 6 Jakarta, Indonesia August 2013 ASCE-TWIG President Edward Wang made presentation during CECAR Conference and served as technical session chair. 5. Nomination of New ASCE-TWIG President Dr. Louis Ge was nominated to serve as the ASCE-TWIG president.
