Basic Site Information: Name: Snow Dump Location: The property is bordered by Park Avenue to the west, Hat Trick Avenue to the Northeast, and the Range Recreation Civic Center to the Southeast. It is within the city limits of Eveleth, Minnesota. Legal Description: Part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (SE¼ of SW¼) of Section 29, Township 58 North, Range 17 West of the Fourth Principal Meridian lying southwest of State Highway No. 53 and southeast of Old Highway No. 53 in the City of Eveleth, St. Louis County, Minnesota, described as follows: Beginning at the southeast corner and assuming the east line of said Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (SE¼ of SW¼) to bear North 00 degrees 44 minutes 23 seconds West; thence North 00 degrees 44 minutes 23 seconds West along said east line feet to the westerly right-of-way of State Highway No. 53; thence North 19 degrees 51 minutes 29 seconds West along said right-of-way feet; thence South 70 degrees 08 minutes 31 seconds West feet; thence North 19 degrees 51 minutes 29 seconds West feet; thence North 70 degrees 08 minutes 31 seconds East feet; thence North 19 degrees 51 minutes 29 seconds West feet to the north line of said Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (SE¼ of SW¼); thence South 89 degrees 55 minutes 16 seconds West along said north line 577 feet more or less to the easterly right-of-way of Old State Highway No. 169; thence southerly along said right-of-way 856 feet more or less to the west line of said Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (SE¼ of SW¼); thence South 03 degrees 52 minutes 44 seconds East 486 feet more or less to the north right-of-way of Shackelton Street as rerouted in 1984; thence South 84 degrees 39 minutes 38 seconds East along said rerouted right-of-way feet; thence South 03 degrees 00 minutes 29 seconds East along the extension of the east right-of-way of Fayal Avenue feet to the south line of said Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (SE¼ of SW¼); thence North 89 degrees 57 minutes 31 seconds East along said south line feet to the point of beginning. Ownership: The City of Eveleth purchased the property for $1 from Eveleth Mines LLC on June 18 th, Eveleth Mines LLC is no longer in business. A copy of the deed is attached.

2 Historical Use and Development: The property was historically owned by Eveleth Mines LLC; it is unknown how the mine used the property. It remains undeveloped, and is currently utilized by the city of Eveleth as a snow removal dump site. B. and E. Environmental Assessment and Status of Contamination: 1. It is unknown whether mining has had environmental impacts on the site. No prior environmental assessments are known to have been completed for this property. 2. The property was not found in the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) database for Minnesota Aboveground/Underground Storage Tanks, and was not identified as a leak site. C. Eligibility Screening: 1. The site is not listed or proposed for listing on the National Priorities List. 2. The site is not subject to unilateral administrative orders, court orders, administrative orders on consent, or jurisdictional consent decrees issued to or entered into by parties under CERCLA. 3. The site is not subject to the jurisdiction or control of the United States Government. D. Requirement for a Property Specific Determination: The site does not require a Site Specific Determination. F. CERCLA 107 Liability: The City of Eveleth acquired the property from Eveleth Mines LLC in No prior environmental assessments are known to have been completed for this property. G. Enforcement Actions: There are no known or anticipated federal, state or local enforcement actions. H. Information on Liability and Defenses: Pre-purchase inquiry: See part B and E. Post Acquisition Uses: The property remains undeveloped. The city of Eveleth is currently using the site as a snow removal dump site. Continuing obligations: There are no known obligations. Additional information related to Petroleum Eligibility: The property is not currently identified in MPCA databases as a tank site or a leak site.
