1 Community Weekly Update for December 22- December 28, 2012 A Love Note from Me to You Dear Neighbors, We hope that you all have a merry and joyous Christmas holiday! There are a few events for you to be aware of within the upcoming weeks. First, we are expecting four F-16 s to arrive at Dallas Love Field on December 31st for a flyover that will occur during the Heart of Dallas Bowl Game on New Year s Day. This arrival is expected during the mid-morning hours and will be coordinated to cause as least of a disturbance as possible. For more information about the Heart of Dallas Bowl Game please visit Secondly, the Dallas Mavericks will have one home game this week on Friday December 28th. 2 Construction Activities Runway Safety Area (RSA) In order to meet current FAA requirements, modifications to RWY 13L/31R must be made to have the appropriate amount of safety area (1,000 feet) at the north end of the runway. In order for the Runway Safety Area (RSA) Project to begin construction, it is necessary for construction elements to be completed on Taxiway Bravo to allow the Love Field Modernization Program (LFMP) to remain on schedule. Portions of Taxiway Bravo are expected to be closed beginning July 1, 2012 through December 31, Construction on Taxiway Bravo is on schedule for completion in December Because both projects can not be done concurrently, construction of the RSA Project will not begin until early If you would like to learn more about the LFMP please visit: Water Main Replacement DWU has contracted with Atkins Brothers Construction to install a 48 water line around Love Field from the Shorecrest Weiss Street intersection to approximately the 8000 block of Lemmon Avenue. Shorecrest is currently closed from Webb Chapel Road to Lemmon Avenue as construction continues. Work continues on the eastbound side of Lemmon Ave from the intersection at Shorecrest to Lovers Lane. All work will be competed in phases. Estimated completion for the project is Spring Runway Closures Scheduled Runway Closures for Routine Maintenance There are no expected runway closures for the upcoming week. Ongoing Airfield Closures TWY B will be closed for construction from TWY B5 to 500ft NW of TWY B1, through December TWYs B3, B4 and M will be closed for construction through December TWY B5 from TWY D to TWY B, is currently closed for construction and will remain closed through December *Please see the airport diagram on the next page for the locations of runways and taxiways.
