1 Community Weekly Update for September 8- September 14, 2012 A Love Note from Me to You Dear Neighbors, Please be advised that we have a scheduled closure of our Preferential Runway 13R/31L (Denton) Friday Sept. 7th at 11 p.m. until Saturday Sept. 8th at 7 a.m. for maintenance. There is a slight chance for thunderstorms in the forecast for Friday evening and Saturday morning. We will coordinate the scheduled maintenance based on permitting weather conditions. We are excited about the progress and changes that are taking place here at Dallas Love Field and we want you to be excited as well! 2 Construction Activities Runway Safety Area (RSA) In order to meet current FAA requirements, modifications to RWY 13L/31R must be made to have the appropriate amount of safety area (1,000 feet) at the north end of the runway. In order for the Runway Safety Area (RSA) Project to begin construction, it is necessary for construction elements to be completed on Taxiway Bravo to allow the Love Field Modernization Program (LFMP) to remain on schedule. Portions of Taxiway Bravo are expected to be closed beginning July 1, 2012 through December 31, Because both projects can not be done concurrently, construction of the RSA Project will not begin until early If you would like to learn more about the LFMP please visit: Water Main Replacement DWU has contracted with Atkins Brothers Construction to install a 48 water line around Love Field from the Shorecrest Weiss Street intersection to approximately the 8000 block of Lemmon Ave. All work will be competed in phases. Construction has begun and is still on schedule to be completed by November Shorecrest is closed to traffic between Webb Chapel and Lemmon as work on the water line continues.. Runway Closures Scheduled Runway Closures for Routine Maintenance RWY 13R/31L (Denton) will be closed Friday September 7, 2012 at 11 p.m. until Saturday September 8, 2012 at 7 a.m. for maintenance. Ongoing Airfield Closures TWY B will be closed for construction from TWY B5 to 500ft NW of TWY B1, through December TWYs B3, B4 and M will be closed for construction through December TWY B5 from TWY D to TWY B, is currently closed for construction and will remain closed through December *Please see the airport diagram on the next page for the locations of runways and taxiways.
