2 Walking track: Ring of Spigone Departure: B&B La Fossa Duration: 2 hours Restaurant and Bar: Locanda del Rebecco (Spigone) Closed: Monday (book before leaving) At the didactic panel distant100m from the B&B La Fossa you go down the steep path to reach to the path with white-red trail signs. Continue to the right following the white-red trail signs up to Spigone. At Spigone you follow the asphalt road to the right and after a while you take a right at the fork following the sign of Casa Cimolla (don t take the left asphalt road that goes down to Vetto) Do not take the entrance to the Casa Cimolla, but go ahead until you see the houses of the B&B La Fossa 100m down below. You pass near a barn and a wooden observation point to return to the B&B La Fossa.

3 Walking track: Ring of Pineto and Spigone Departure: B&B La Fossa Duration: 2 hours and 45 min Restaurants and Bars: Trattoria Serena (Pineto) Closed: Monday. Summer: open lunch and dinner. Winter: open lunch, dinner by reservation only, minimum 6 people. (book before leaving) At the didactic panel distant100m from the B&B La Fossa you go down the steep path to reach to the path with white-red trail signs. Continue to the left following the white-red trail signs until you reach a fork where you go to the right in the direction of Pineto. Cross the small stream going straight (do not cross going left). Shortly after crossing the river you see an old house (Casa Mariano) on the left side of the path. Continue in the direction of Pineto. Immediately after the Serena restaurant, go right towards Mulinaccio. In front of the Mulinaccio houses, cross the river to go towards Spigone. From Spigone you go down again into the Val Tassaro in the direction of Scalucchia. At some point take the left uphill towards B & B La Fossa.

Summer: open lunch and dinner. Restaurant Liva (Casalecchio) Closed: Monday. June-September: lunch and dinner. At the didactic panel distant100m from the B&B La Fossa you go down the steep path to reach to the path with white-red trail signs. Continue to the right following the white-red trail signs up to Spigone. (restaurant and bar) At Spigone the path continues passing under the first house of the village going to the left. At the Mulinaccio you cross the Tassaro stream. Behind the houses the steep path continues towards Pineto. (restaurant and bar) Continue to the south at Pineto and take the white-red trail to the left, cross the Riolco stream and pass by to Casa Spiaggi to reach Legoreccio. (A small detour can take you to the Liva restaurant.) From Legoreccio continue towards Monte Luseto. The trail comes out on the paved road. Continue to the left and cross the bridge over the Tassaro before reaching Scalucchia. At Scalucchia take the path to the left in the direction of Spigone. At some point you take the path uphill to the right to reach the B&B La Fossa.

5 Walking track: Tassaro waterfall Start: B&B La Fossa. Duration: 2 hours Start: Scalucchia (by car 5 minutes from B&B La Fossa). Duration: 1 hour Restaurant and Bar: Restaurant Liva (Casalecchio) Closed: Monday. June-September: lunch and dinner. (close but not along the route - book before leaving) Locanda del Castellaro (Castellaro) Closed: Monday. Summer: dinner and lunch. Winter: dinner by reservation. (close but not along the route - book before leaving) At the didactic panel distant100m from the B&B La Fossa you go down the steep path to reach to the path with white-red trail signs. Continue to the left following the white-red trail signs until you reach a fork where you stay on the left side in the direction of Scalucchia. (If you come by car: park in Scalucchia) In Scalucchia you enter the village and take the path 670 C. Follow the Cascata sign until you reach the Rio Tassaro. Follow the stream in the opposite direction to get to the waterfall after 200 meters. Go back to the junction and take the 670 A variant to return to Scalucchia. (If you come by car: the walk ends here) Take the asphalt road in the direction of Vogilato At the entrance of the B&B La Fossa turn left for the 1 km climb.

6 Walking track: Long ring of the Tassaro waterfall Start: B&B La Fossa. Duration: 3 hours Start: Scalucchia (by car 5 minutes from the B & B La Fossa). Duration: 2 hours Restaurant and Bar: Restaurant Liva (Casalecchio) Closed: Monday. June-September: lunch and dinner. Other months only by reservation. (close but not along the route. Book before leaving) Locanda del Castellaro (Castellaro) Closed: Monday. Summer: dinner and lunch. Winter: dinner by reservation. Continue to the left following the white-red trail signs until you reach a fork where you stay on the left side in the direction of Scalucchia. (If you come by car: park in Scalucchia) You enter the village of Scalucchia and take the path on the right towards Crovara. At Crovara you pass the church and immediately after you pass the restored building at the side of the church. You turn left going down. Continue to follow the map and after crossing the Rio Tassaro, turn left following 'Cascata'. After the waterfall, you go back on the same path, but continuing towards Casa Cattoi. You turn left going uphill. (If you come by car: the walk ends turning left towards Scalucchia) At the asphalt road turn right towards Vogilato. At the entrance of the B&B La Fossa turn left for the 1 km climb.

7 Restaurants near B&B La Fossa Opening times: Italian restaurants in the area are only open for lunch and for diner. The rest of the day they are closed and don t serve food. If they also have a bar you can probably eat a snack at any hour. You can start lunch between: 12:30-14:00 and you can start diner between: 19:00-21:00. So if you have a late breakfast at B&B La Fossa and become hungry again at 14:30, the restaurants will not serve you lunch anymore! The way Italians eat: It starts with the bread on the table and the ordering of the wine & water and eventually a small starter Antipasto. They will tell you what they have fresh that day and probably not bringing you the menu card. The Italians eat first a Primo (the pasta dish) followed by a Secondo (the meat dish) with Contorni side-dishes (vegetables, salad, potatoes). Finishing it all with a Dolce, the desert and after that a caffè and eventually a liquore for the digestion. In this area the culinary specialities are the handmade tortelli: little square pasta packages with filling. The tradizional ones are with pumpkin, spinach and ricotta or potato and wild mushrooms. You can also try the fettucine pasta or the gnocchi or the cappelletti in broth. You will find them at the small center of Vetto. There are more and bigger supermarkets in Castelnovo ne Monti. Opening times: The supermarkets close for a really long lunchbreak. From 12:30 until 15:30 they will be closed. So if you get up late, have a late breakfast at B&B La Fossa and at 12:15 decide to leave for Vetto for the supermarket you will find everything closed!
