This was a philosophy that began with our co-founder and first CEO, Sam Boyd. It was Sam who brought the United Way to southern Nevada in the 1950s, and the Boys & Girls Clubs to Las Vegas in the 1960s. And when Sam helped found Boyd Gaming in 1975, he and his family made sure that this commitment to giving back became a core part of the Company s culture and identity. Through our diversity initiatives, we create career and business opportunities for the diverse range of people who call our communities home. Through our commitment to sustainability, we help preserve our natural resources, and protect the environment. 4 PHILANTHROPY Giving back to our communities is a foundational part of our mission and our culture. COMMUNITY & CULTURE For more than 40 years, Boyd Gaming and its team members have been committed supporters of the United Way. Each year, our Company and team members collectively donate more than $1 million to United Way chapters across the country, helping support the communities in which we operate. Nationwide, Boyd Gaming is proud to support our military community through the USO. In Las Vegas, our Orleans Arena partners with the local chapter to provide complimentary or discounted show tickets throughout the year. In Northwood, Iowa, our Diamond Jo Casino contributes to the Buffalo Center Historical Society, an organization devoted to educating, preserving and promoting the historic town of Buffalo Center and surrounding communities. Dubuque Main Street, a model urban Main Street program, is an organization supported by Boyd Gaming s Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque, Iowa. It is dedicated to the development and ongoing support of the Dubuque downtown area. Boyd Gaming is also a prominent supporter of the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, a non-profit organization that provides legal representation, advice and education to low-income residents who are unable to afford legal services. In Biloxi, Mississippi, our IP Casino Resort Spa is a major supporter of the Bacot McCarty Foundation, a non-profit that assists youth and education programs throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast community. Through our support, the Foundation is able to assist a number of organizations, such as the Mississippi Maritime Museum, Boys and Girls Club of Jackson County and the YMCA. 5 Since our Company was founded more than 43 years ago, Boyd Gaming and its team members have been committed supporters of the United Way. We are among the leading contributors to United Way chapters across the country, donating approximately $5 million over the last 5 years. 6 Boyd Gaming is a prominent supporter of Opportunity Village, a non-profit organization serving southern Nevada residents with intellectual disabilities. HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES In Las Vegas, Boyd Gaming is a long-time supporter of Opportunity Village, a local non-profit organization dedicated to serving adults with intellectual and related disabilities in southern Nevada. Through its vocational training, employment programs and enrichment programs, Opportunity Village is devoted to enhancing the lives of those with intellectual disabilities, and the lives of the families who love them. Boyd Gaming is a supporter of the Cleveland Clinic s Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, located in downtown Las Vegas. The Ruvo Center provides advanced care to Nevadans with neurodegenerative diseases, and supports cutting-edge research into new treatment methods. Boyd Gaming regularly supports American Red Cross disaster relief efforts across the nation. We provided much-needed financial support to the Red Cross of Louisiana after widespread flooding, and to the Red Cross in Mississippi after severe tornadoes in Hattiesburg. And in Las Vegas, we provide discounted hotel rooms to assist local Red Cross clients displaced from their homes by fires or other disasters. 4

8 Holiday trees on display at Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel in Vinton, Louisiana. TREES OF HOPE A Boyd Gaming holiday tradition, Trees of Hope promotes the season of giving nationwide. Since we founded this program at Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel in southwest Louisiana more than 10 years ago, Trees of Hope has expanded to 14 Boyd Gaming properties nationwide. Benefiting nearly 100 non-profit organizations each year, Trees of Hope provides cash support to local charities, as well as invaluable exposure in their communities. Through Trees of Hope, Boyd Gaming has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities serving the many communities we call home. 6

HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES In Louisiana, Boyd Gaming s Treasure Chest Casino contributes to the Italian-American Fishing Rodeo benefiting the New Orleans Children s Hospital, while Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel supports the CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. Diamond Jo Casino supports the Meals on Wheels program in Northwood, Iowa, helping provide regular meals and company to hundreds of local seniors in its community. COMMUNITY AND CULTURE In New Orleans, The National WWII Museum recently honored Boyd Gaming and Treasure Chest as the named sponsors of one of the museum s newest exhibit, The Arsenal of Democracy: The Herman and George Brown Salute to the Home Front. In Shreveport, Louisiana, Boyd Gaming s Sam s Town Hotel and Casino supports the African-American History Parade, dedicated to preserving African- American history for future generations. Preserving the diverse cultural heritage of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the legacy of Biloxi artist George E. Ohr, is the Ohr-O Keefe Museum of Art. Generously supported by Boyd Gaming s IP Casino Resort Spa, this museum provides compelling exhibits and educational experiences relevant to the Gulf Coast region. Through their partnership with Boyd Gaming s Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa in Michigan City, Indiana organizations such as the Michigan City Zoo and The Salvation Army are able to enhance their services and programs to better serve the Michigan City community. As a longtime partner of Vacations Hawaii, the Great Aloha Run is able to assist charities throughout Hawaii and its military community. EDUCATION In Peoria, Illinois, Boyd Gaming s Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino partners with Peoria Promise, a non-profit organization that supports economic development by encouraging local high school graduates to pursue college and/or vocational programs. Through the Kansas All-Star Scholars Fund, Kansas Star Casino Hotel Event Center helps defray school supply costs for students and teachers throughout Sumner County, Kansas. Additionally, the Scholars Fund provides a college scholarship to all qualifying Sumner County students upon their graduation from high school. 8

11 As a long-time partner of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Boyd Gaming recently pledged $2.5 million toward the construction of a new, state-of-the-art home for the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality, widely considered to be one of the world s elite hospitality education programs. The gift is the latest in a decadeslong partnership between Boyd Gaming, the Boyd family and UNLV that includes Bill Boyd s $30 million personal donation to launch the William S. Boyd School of Law. In Las Vegas, Boyd Gaming is a founding sponsor of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, a world-class performing arts center celebrating artistic excellence, education and culture from around the world. 14 DIVERSITY We proudly continue our long-standing commitment to Diversity. Since the day we were founded, a commitment to diversity has been a core part of Boyd Gaming s culture. This commitment began well before the birth of our Company, with our co-founder, Sam Boyd. As one of the most prominent casino operators in downtown Las Vegas from the 1950s through the 1970s, Sam was well-known for repeatedly breaking down barriers in the gaming industry, creating new opportunities for women and African-Americans. Sam and his son Bill Boyd brought this long-standing commitment to Boyd Gaming upon its founding, and kept the legacy of diversity alive as the Company grew and prospered. Today, Marianne Boyd Johnson continues her father s and grandfather s commitment to promoting diversity as Boyd Gaming s Chief Diversity Officer, with oversight of more than 20 property-level diversity committees across seven states. Under Marianne s leadership, Boyd Gaming is proud to carry forward the legacy and vision of the Boyd family, as outlined in our Corporate Diversity Mission Statement: We embrace diversity in every aspect of our business, from our team members, to our supply chain initiatives, our philanthropic endeavors, and our customers. Our commitment to diversity strengthens our Company, our communities and our families. We have made significant progress toward this vision. Today, 54% of our team members are women. Nearly half of our managers are women as well, including one-third of our Midwest & South property general managers. And we have three women on our Board of Directors, including our Vice Chairman. We have made great strides creating opportunities for minorities as well. Today, Boyd Gaming s workforce is majority minority, with 15% representation among three separate minority groups (African-American, Hispanic and Asian-American). More than one-quarter of our management positions and one of our Board seats are currently held by people of color, and increasing their representation in our leadership ranks is one of our highest priorities. We are proud that the face of Boyd Gaming increasingly mirrors the growing diversity of our nation. And yet we realize we have more work to do. Through our network of property diversity committees, we will work to identify new ways to expand and enhance our diversity goals. We firmly believe our commitment to diversity makes us a stronger company. But embracing diversity is also the right thing to do, as we strive to continue the Company s legacy of having a positive impact on the diverse communities we call home. 12

And we are making progress beyond the traditional metrics of diversity. A good example is the age representation of our workforce, which includes significant representation from five separate generations: the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. 18 SUSTAINABILITY We are committed to help protect the environment and conserve natural resources. At Boyd Gaming, we are committed to doing our part to protect the environment and pursue sustainable business practices. GREEN GLOBES CERTIFICATIONS Several Boyd Gaming properties in southern Nevada have earned Green Globes Certification through the Nevada Governor s Office of Energy and the Green Building Initiative. The Green Globes Certification, which is equivalent to the U.S. Green Building Council s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, is a rating qualification reserved for spaces that achieve a variety of attainments in green building and sustainability. To date, The Orleans Hotel and Casino and California Hotel and Casino have each earned four Green Globes, which is equivalent to earning LEED Platinum certification. Additionally, Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, Suncoast Hotel and Casino, Cannery Casino Hotel and Sam s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall have each earned three Green Globes, which is equivalent to receiving LEED Gold certification. In recognition of Boyd Gaming s efforts to save water and improve water efficiency in southern Nevada, the Company recently received the Water Conservation Coalition s Water Hero Award. LEED TRENDSETTERS Two Boyd Gaming properties in southern Nevada set new standards of excellence in achieving LEED certification. The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. WATER SAVINGS In southern Nevada, Boyd Gaming has upgraded its utility water chemical treatment programs at eight properties, reducing water consumption by 50 million gallons each year. These savings are equivalent to the average amount of water used by approximately 500 households in one year. The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas was the first arena in Nevada to achieve LEED Gold, while our Linen & Uniform Services in Henderson, Nevada, was the nation s first LEED Silver industrial laundry. ELECTRICAL SAVINGS The Company has reduced its annual electricity usage by nearly 20 million kilowatt-hours over the last three years, with plans to lower annual consumption by an additional 5 million kwh each year. These savings are equivalent to the annual electrical usage of more than 1,800 homes. 17

20 VALUING OUR TEAM MEMBERS An engaged and valued workforce is critical to our success. Treating people right has always been a core philosophy of our Company. And that begins with how we treat our team members, who are the foundation of our success. We have long sought to make Boyd Gaming more than just another job. We want Boyd Gaming to be a place where team members feel welcomed, valued and engaged, a place where they can stay and build rewarding careers. We live and celebrate our unique Boyd Gaming culture in other ways as well. We regularly celebrate our team members successes. At our annual Service Awards, our senior leadership team celebrates with every team member reaching a key milestone with our Company (starting with the 10th year of service). To celebrate individual achievement, every Boyd Gaming property honors a front-of-house and backof-house team member each month. At the heart of this philosophy is our unique workplace culture, built upon a universal commitment to value every team member as a unique individual to treat everyone with genuine respect, and to engage with them on a personalized level. At Boyd Gaming, everyone is on first name terms, regardless of position and every team member is welcome to avail themselves of an Open Door Policy that extends to every level of the Company, up to and including our Chief Executive Officer and our Executive Chairman. But we don t wait for team members to make appointments, as our leadership team team is highly engaged, visible and approachable in the workplace. Our senior executives and general managers routinely engage with team members and customers across our properties, led by the example of our Executive Chairman, Bill Boyd. And at every property, one monthly winner receives the coveted Team Member of the Year Award, complete with an all-expense-paid trip to Hawaii and a personal dinner with Bill Boyd and Marianne Boyd Johnson. We compensate our team members appropriately. We pay competitive wages, and offer our team members a 401(k) plan with a matching contribution and paid time off. Additionally, 71% of our team members are full-time, making them eligible for benefits packages that include life insurance, medical, dental and vision coverage. And when management positions become available, we prioritize promoting from within. We re here to help. Every full-time and part-time Boyd Gaming team member is eligible to receive financial assistance through our Team Member Crisis Fund, funded through the personal contributions of thousands 18

When a crisis affects many team members at once such as Hurricane Harvey in 2017 Boyd Gaming has regularly supplemented the Crisis Fund with additional Company contributions. As a team, we give back generously to our communities. On average, Boyd Gaming team members contribute approximately $1 million through United Way each year and our team members regularly participate in property-organized volunteer events, including Special Olympics field days and blood drives. This philosophy has helped us build one of the most engaged workforces in our industry, with 81% of team members reporting high job engagement on our last Team Member Opinion Survey. And it has helped us build one of the longest-tenured workforces in our industry. Today, our 20,000 team members average more than seven years of service with Boyd Gaming and nearly 9% have been with us for more than 20 years.
