2 HEADS UP! The room block of 175 rooms at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner has completely sold out. There are NO more rooms available at our group rate. We have contacted a nearby hotel as an overflow option. We have secured a small block of rooms but rooms are limited, so please do not put it off any longer. The Westin Tysons Corner is only one mile away from the Hilton McLean. The Westin Hotel and the Hilton Hotel shuttles will move everyone back and forth, so you won't miss a thing. Hospitality Room opens at noon. First Stop: Iwo Jima Monument where we will meet with the Silent Drill Team and watch them in action. Then we will move on to a sunset tour of the National Mall Area including the Vietnam Memorial. Memorial Service and 1/7 Monument Dedication. Self-Guided tour of the Museum of the Marine Corps. Hospitality room at the hotel will be closed until 3PM. Casual BBQ dinner buffet. All Hands Meeting. 1/7 Ladies Social. All ladies are welcome. Please join us for games and prizes. No Host Cocktail Hour. Evening Banquet. (Coat and Tie suggested but not required). Cash bar will be available.

3 News and Notes HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL AND BACK There are many ways to get from the airport to the hotels. We will tell you about some of them. If you plan to drive around the D.C. area, of course a rental car is your best bet, but if it is just to get to the hotel and back the below are some options. 1. For the well traveled or computer savvy, Uber is one option. 2. Super Shuttle offers a mini bus from the airports and from the hotel. You will need to make a reservation with them. 1/7 Marines Association has been offered a 12% discount. You can make a reservation by calling There is a $3.00 booking fee to make your reservation over the phone. The cost varies slightly depending on the travel time and traffic. It should cost (with discount) approximately $ one-way from Reagan National Airport and approximately $19.00 one-way from Dulles. You must use the discount code XPF58 to get the 12% 1/7 discount. There are two types of shuttle services. One drops passengers off at different hotels and may take a bit longer. The pricing for that is above. The other option goes straight to the hotel but will cost more. You can call or go online to get a Super Shuttle a quote before you travel at 3 A cab can run you $35.00 to $75.00, again depending on the time of day and the amount of traffic. A slight benefit here is that it will cost about $1.00 for every extra passenger. If you can line up a few buddies and arrive at the airport at about the same time you can team up and get 3 or maybe more to a cab. Discuss the costs with the cab driver BEFORE taking any cab. 4 The least expensive option will be to use the METRO train system. A train car leaves the station near each airport every 8 to 12 minutes on weekdays, and 12 to 20 minutes on weekends. 4 From the Metro Stations to the Hotels: The Hilton McLean shuttle will pick you up at the McLean Metro Station if you call , and press 0 after the recorded message to request a pick up. The Westin Tysons Corner hotel shuttle stops at the Tysons Corner Metro Station every 20 minutes past the hour, or you can call and request a pick-up Banquet Meal Notes: We have added a children s meal of chicken tenders, fries, mac and cheese, and a fruit cup for children under 12. This meal will cost $20.00 (tax and tip included) and is available upon special request. If you need one and have already sent in your registration form just aslapointe@ec.rr.com and we can add it to your form. If you have not yet sent in your registration form please note it on page 2 next to the child s name and age. You must list all guests including children. Don t forget to include the $ amount in your total. We can also accommodate a vegetarian option if you let us know by 15 April As always if you have a serious diet/medical restriction please let us know well in advance and we will try to accommodate your requests if at all possible. **REMINDERS** Your nametag is your ticket to all events. You will need to wear it to enter the hospitality suite, or to board the buses, or to attend any 1/7 function. If you lose it, we will replace it but you MUST wear it to participate in all 1/7 activities. We are sometimes on a very tight schedule, especially during the day trips. Please plan to arrive at all bus loading destinations 10 or 15 minutes prior to published board times. If you are in a wheelchair or need assistance with boarding please let us know so that we can assist you as required. You will find all the information you need in the Reunion Package that you will receive upon check in at the 1/7 Registration Table, (which will be located near our Hospitality Suite at the Hilton McLean Hotel).
