The natural river bed gravel was identified as being scoured in the 13th-14th century by severe flooding. The scouring was followed by the laying down of further medieval river deposits. Medieval to early post-medieval post rows were identified and were interpreted as forming part of a fish weir. A foundation for the wall of a building probably founded in the 2nd century was recorded and Roman finds were recovered. A foundation of a 2nd century wall was recorded.
